GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

General Membership Annual Meeting

  1. Call to order by Rose Lambert at 7:05pm.
  2. Presentation and approval of the minutes for February and April. Approved.
  3. Treasurer’s report – Dean Norton reported that we have $700 in the treasury.
  4. President’s Remarks - Discussion about traffic calming in Mount Zephyr on Woodly Drive. Citizen from Mt. Zephyr Citizens Association was present to bring up issues about Woodly Drive. There is a new playground and the Members of the Mt. Zephyr Citizens Association would like traffic calming measures enforced by VDOT. He will meet with Dean Norton and discuss how they can get the Street together to pursue the traffic humps.
  5. Annual Elections – No one came forward to chair the nominating committee. Rose brought the election to the members of the Association. They suggested that the same people run for a second term. The VP Roy VanSlyke was not present – Dick Noble said that he would be willing to run for VP. The elections were held and all votes were unanimous with no one abstaining.

    Mount Vernon Farms consists of many small to medium-sized neighborhoods. It is essential that as many of these different areas as possible be represented on the Board. Consider serving your civic association by filling one of these vacancies.

  8. Presentation and discussion about the Mohawk Lane intersection at Richmond Highway.

    Frank Roberts, Dept. of Public Works and Environmental Services was present with the traffic studies and maps of the area in question. Rose passed out a letter that had been sent to the builder of the South County Center letting them know that a survey was ongoing at the time.

    Presentation by prospective developer of the Mobile Home Sales site.

    John Thillman, Landmark Communities presented his plan for the property that the Mobile home sale business is presently located at.

Check you mailing label. If you see a star (*) next to your name in the members only section, your dues have been paid for this year. Please report discrepancies to the Treasurer. Membership is required to vote.

Membership Dues for year ending 8/30/01 are now being collected. Per household annual dues are $10.00. Dues may be given to the Treasurer at Tuesday’s meeting or sent via check payable to Mount Vernon Farms Civic Association to P.O. Box 45, Mount Vernon, VA 22121.
