New Year Celebrations at our Mass Centres.
" THE LIGHT SHINES IN THE DARKNESS….."
Once again the whole world is getting ready to celebrate the Christmas, the birth day of Jesus , the Savior of the World. Various kinds of celebrations have already begun. 'To celebrate' is the dominant mood during this season. Spending lavishly upon anything that attracts, being disposed to enjoy oneself with anything reachable is, it seems, the widely accepted culture. After all the spending and the efforts made to enjoy oneself, a question that haunts us is that 'Could we enjoy really?' As much effort we take upon for our enjoyment with an outlook based on consumerism, so much the something real, for which we crave , becomes evasive. Consequently, still there is the feeling of frustration, meaninglessness and no hope at large in our life irrespective of our life situations.
The atmosphere prevailing, at present, in this world is not pleasant, but
is of discomfort and distress, suffering and suffocation, degradation and
disintegration in every level. 'The future is bleak' is the general feeling.
Here comes Christmas! In an atmosphere where darkness and evils are prevailing,
where everything engulfed in darkness, the true light that shines everything,
eliminates the darkness and prevails over the evils, is the need of the
hour. Every light is not the real light. Here comes the heightened relevance
of Christmas! CHRISTMAS is " Glory to God", "GOOD NEWS to men and women"
and "JOY to the World." Yes it is a ringing bell calling a distraught
humanity to Gladness and Hope. It is an altar to which man can bring his
heartache for comfort, his looseness for guidance, his sin for forgiveness.
After all it is a SHINING STAR of hope in the sky of all mankind. Wish
everyone all the blessing of this Season.
