The Russian version of the Weapon X experiment! Omega Red is one of the best and overpowered characters in the game! He ranks right up there with Spidey and Wolverine as one of the characters that is just impossible to beat if placed in the hands of a master cheeser! This is because of the fact that his Carbonadium Coils hurt so much! Way too much in my humble opinion cause these ARE only special moves! Besides, that...his supers are very effective! The Omega Destroyer is impossible to counter or stop and the Carbonadium Smash has very little recovery time even if it misses! An Omega Red player has to be very sly and slippery! A lot of super jumping, air dashing and playing around with the coils will make you very hard to read! It takes a while to get good with him but once you are....there's really no stopping you! "HAHAHAHA....Omega Destroyer!"
Carbonadium Coil

+P
Omega Red shoots out a coil from it's housing and grabs his opponent! This is one of the best moves in the game because of it's range and damage potential! It hurts it hurts! Watch out though, because if blocked, the recovery time is quite bad! Jab goes straight forward, Strong goes diagonally upwards and Fierce goes straight up! If you hold the button that you used to shoot out the coil, Omega Red will stretch it out farther and for a longer period of time! Letting go has him retract it after it goes about a half screen's distance! While you've got an opponent stuck in your clutches, you can do any of the following.....
Lifebar Drain Rapidly press P after coil
This will drain a little bit of your opponent's life and give some of it back to you! This is a useful move to do because not only will it do damage to your opponent, it will give you back yours!
Super Meter Drain Rapidly press K after coil
If you repeatedly press kick, Omega Red will steal from his opponent's super meter and place it into his! The amount of power drained is not that impressive so the life drain is usually a better idea! This is still a useful move for charging your meter or stopping a few Chaos Dimensions or Raging Demons!
Carbonadium Throw Any direction + P after coil
You can skip all of that draining crap and just throw them! However, Omega Red can be very very versatile! You can choose to drain some life before throwing them, to recharge your lifebar while hurting them! Also, he can slam them down on the ground and then throw them up afterwards! He can even coil them again if you throw them into the corner or upwards! Experiment a lot with these because you can come up with some really damaging combos with this single move!
Air Carbonadium Coil

+P or K
Exactly the same as his ground coils but while in the air, he has the ability to coil in 5 different directions! The punch buttons act exactly like the ground version, while the kicks are the complete opposite! Short kick goes straight forward, Forward kick goes diagonally downward and the Roundhouse version goes straight down! As I said, Super Jump, Air dash and when you're right over them, throw out the Roundhouse coil to catch them trying to air counter you!
Omega Strike

+K
Omega Red plants his coils into the ground and propels himself towards his opponent! Short goes straight forward, Forward goes diagonally upwards and Roundhouse goes straight up! If you press back + kick while doing this move, he will return to the spot that he started the attack from which basically eliminates any chance of your opponent countering! Pressing the joystick forward immediately after that will make him release the coils so that he can attack right away! Releasing the coils can also be done without recalling them by pressing down + punch
Omega Destroyer

+2P(Level One)
"HAHAHAHA....Omega Destroyer!" I just love saying that! Omega Red releases all of his coils and pummels his opponent repeatedly with them! This is a great super! Once it starts, nothing will penetrate! It's just unstoppable! The best that you can do is block! Pushing this is very tricky and you have to time it or else you'll get hit! Push once during the first volley and once more near the end! If you ram on the push blocking then you'll get hit during the little gap in the middle of the super! It is the only full screen super left in the game and it takes off good damage! However, the start up lag often lets this mvoe get blocked and only chipping damage is done! Pull it off when they least expect it or if they're vulnerable!
Carbonadium Smash(air)

+2P(Level One)
Omega charges while in the air and if he hits his opponent, he does an auto combo which finishes with a Carbonadium Coil grab and a huge explosion when they are slammed into the ground! It can also be started just before he lands so it can even tag opponents on the ground! This move hurts a lot but the problem is that it's very tough to connect! You have to get the timing down to a science in order for you to make this move connect reliably! You could even try to air combo it! Keep in mind though that it is almost impossible to do and I've only seen it done once! That's only cause the guy didn't block though.....
Coil Slash MP+MK
This is really one of Omega Red's normal moves and I guess they used it cause both of his specials require player control even after they connect, so they wouldn't be that great as team attacks! It comes out pretty fast so it's ok to use now and then, but it has very little range!
Omega Strike

HP+HK
This is a great counter because it has a lot of range and it even comes out quite quickly! It is the short version so Omega Red will skim the bottom of the screen while doing this! Don't counter any air attacks with it cause he'll miss! However, it's great for ground attacks and even single hit fireballs!
Omega Destroyer

HP+HK(Level Two)
"HAHAHAHA...Omega Destroyer!" Sorry...I couldn't resist saying it again! This move will complement just about every single other super in the game! Even if it misses, then it does a lot of really good chipping damage! It's a very effective team super! Plus it looks sorta cool seeing both Weapon X experimentees doing a super together if you team him up with Wolverine! However...this is a team that I hate very much! Even more than Spidey and Wovlerine!...*LOL*
Omega Red is a very good character, one of the best in the game actually! He does not have very many weaknesses because of the fact that he can play keep away and he can also mix it up with his high priority throws and multi hitting speed attacks! However, there are a few characters that give him a hard time!
Mega Zangief and Hulk are big problems with him cause of the fact that his coils will not catch them! His coils are his most powerful weapons and not being able to use them just really handicaps him! Ok, so Hulk can be coiled if it's done in an air combo but other than that, they just bounce off! Mega Zangief? Forget about it! Nothing will coil him! However, the Omega Destroyer will kick his ass all over the place! Against Hulk, keep jumping in with his Fierce! This move is almost impossible to counter by Hulk cause the multiple hits will stop his super armor and he's not fast enough to hit you! Watch out for the Gamma Crush though! Play with his mind and make him throw it out then block! Make him pay for his insolence by Omega Destroying him as he lands!
Another problem for him are the other keep away characters that are better at it than he is! Cyclops, Dhalsim and Blackheart can beat him by just avoiding his coils and staying away! Get close to them and grab em with an air version of the coils while they are in their fireball stun animation! Keep em on the defensive!
Combos!
Ground Magic: Stronger
Air Magic: Stronger
Super Jump Magic: Zigzag
Air Launchers: S.Strong, Forward Omega Strike
AC Finishers: Fierce, Roundhouse, Carbonadium Coil, Carbonadium Smash
Easy Combos
1) D.C.Strong --> Forward Omega Strike
2) S.Roundhouse --> Short Omega Strike
3) C.Roundhouse --> Short Omega Strike
4) S.Strong --> Fierce Carbonadium Coil
This will not connect all the time and will usually only work if you're right next to your opponent or if you're in the corner!
5) Strong Throw --> Omega Destroyer(OTG)
6) C.Short, C.Forward --> Short Omega Strike
Harder Combos
1) S.Short, S.Forward, S.Roundhouse --> Short Omega Strike
2) J.Jab, J.Strong \/ D.S.Jab, S.Strong /\ SJ.Jab, SJ.Short, SJ.Strong --> AC Finisher
3) D.S.Strong /\ SJ.Jab, SJ.Strong, SJ.Jab, SJ.Strong --> Fierce-Carbonadium Coil
4) J.Jab, J.Strong \/ D.C.Short, S.Strong /\ SJ.Jab, SJ.Short, SJ.Strong, SJ.Forward, SJ.Forward --> Forward-Carbonadium Coil, Fierce Carbonadium Coil
Suck their energy and then throw them straight upwards! They will be lined up perfectly for the Fierce coil! Once you catch them with that, throw them sideways and if you're in the corner, you might be able to catch them with another coil or even the Smash but don't bet on it!
5) Roundhouse Carbonadium Strike, Air Dash, Roundhouse Carbonadium Coil
This is not really a combo but a good way to confuse your opponent so that you can coil them! They'll usually try an dragon punch or some other form of air defense and get caught in the coil! Keep in mind that the Carbonadium Strike does NOT connect! It's just to get you in the air and make them try to counter!
Theoretical Combos
1) In Corner: J.Fierce \/ D.S.Jab, S.Strong /\ SJ.Jab, SJ.Short, SJ.Strong, SJ.Forward, SJ.Forward --> Carbonadium Coil, Carbonadium Smash
This combo is so hard to do because the timing of the Carbonadium Smash is very, very tough! I'm not really sure which way you should throw your opponent but I think it's upwards and then time the Carbonadium Smash to intercept them on the way down!
2) J.Jab, J.Strong \/ D.S.Strong /\ SJ.Jab, SJ.Short, SJ.Strong, SJ.Fierce \/ Omega Destroyer(OTG)
The question is, does he land in time to pull off the Omega Destroyer?
3) J.Fierce \/ D.S.Strong /\ SJ.Jab, SJ.Short --> Carbonadium Smash
Does the Smash air combo off of anything? I've gotten it to hit before but my opponent was always able to block it! Any suggestions?
