Spider-Man
"J.J. Doesn't pay me enough for this"

High School wallflower, Peter Parker was an outcast because he was such an incredible geek. One day, while attending a science fair, he was bitten by a radio-active spider. He soon found that he had the proportional strength, speed and agility of an arachnid. After making a costume and fashioning some web shooters, he went off and tried to get into show business. Being bitter to the world, he allowed a burglar to escape, even though he could have done something about it. The same burglar later one returned and murdered his Uncle Ben. Spidey then learned that with great power, comes great responsability and that if you can do something to help, then you're obligated to help. His sense of responsability has lead him to the battle against Onslaught.

Move Commands

Web Ball +P
Spidey shoots out a gob of web fluid at his opponent which encases them in a web cocoon. While trapped, they will be unable to move or block. The stronger the punch button used, the longer it will hold the opponent. The Fierce version will hold them long enough for a Maximum Spider to connect. However, the stronger versions take longer to come out so it's best to use the Jab version to play keep away and to do chipping damage.

Spider Sting +P
Spiderman does a Dragon Punch that hits both on the way up and on the way down. It does a lot of damage and is a great air defender. Most Spider-Man players ignore this move and end up having bad defensive skills. Learn how to use it to make Spidey's defense impentrable. It also combos before and after his launcher, setting up many combo possibilities.

Web Swing +K
Spidey shoots out a web line at the ceiling and swings toward his opponent feet first. It comes out extremely quickly and does good damage. It can be used to OTG a downed opponent or you can tack it onto the end of an Air combo as an AC finisher. Be careful though, cause his recovery delay on this move has been lengthened. He'll be vulnerable if it's blocked or dodged.

Web Throw +P
Spidey shoots out a webline at his opponent, grabs the line and spins them around his head before hurling them to the wall. This is Spidey's single most powerful special move and it's extremely funny to watch. If timed correctly, it can be comboed after a launcher and it is useful as an anti air move. Watch out though because it's blockable, has a start up delay and it leaves him vulnerable to counter attack. Spinning the joystick and jamming the buttons will make Spidey spin the opponent around a few extra times for added damage.

Supermove Commands

Maximum Spider +2P(Level One)
Spidey jumps to the wall and launches himself at his opponent. If he connects, he does a five hit juggle combo that does incredible damage. Once he gets off the wall, Spidey will hit his opponent almost instantly. However, seeing him jump onto the wall is a dead give away and this move is often blocked. Combo it after a Fierce Web Ball or use it as a counter attack. Watch out if it's blocked because fast opponents can now easily counter while he's trying to land.

Crawler Assault +2K(Level One)
Spidey does a funky rushing attack along the ground. It's great for countering missed moves because of it's speed and range so use it to punish mistakes. However, it's best when Spidey uses it to OTG a downed opponent. It's very hard to roll away from it for some reason and it does very good damage. This is also Spidey's only chipping super, so use it to get rid of those pesky opponents that just won't die.

Ultimate Web Throw +2P(Level One)
Spidey jumps back into the air and releases a huge web. Once trapped, the web contracts around the opponent, making a little bundle. Spidey starts spinning in the middle of the screen and after gaining a lot of speed he releases the line. The damage that it does is just nuts! However, it has very little range and will usually miss anyone not directly in front of Spidey. It's really hard to connect but the damage that it does and the laughter potential makes it worthwhile to try once in a while.

Team Counter

Spider Sting HP+HK(Level One)
This is an ideal counter for up close attacks. Even multi hitting supers will be stopped by Spidey. Don't try to counter any beam supers with this cause he won't reach far enough to catch them and he'll end up getting hit.

Team Super

Crawler Assault HP+HK(Level Two)
This is a great team super because it can be set up with an OTG. Use Spidey to start off team supers to do some major damage on his opponent. It also chips good damage making him an ideal back up character as well.
