Morrigan
"Stay down, it's easier that way"
Morrigan is a very powerful character. She's got great up close fighting skills, powerful supers and the best keep away skills in the game. Best of all, she plays almost exactly like a Shotokan character, allowing old school Street Fighters pick her up with ease(eheh!).
Advantages
- This girl sure can brawl. Her speed and zigzag ground magic series gives her the ability to fist fight with any opponent. The great thing about this is her ability to change up strategies. You could start her off as a keep away player and then confuse your opponent by going after them.
- Morrigan has some of the most painful supers in the game. The Soul Eraser and the Darkness illusion are extremely powerful supers that will kill most opponents. The Silhouette Blade is comboable and the Eternal Slumber is a great surprise move. Use them whenever you can.
- Morrigan has very good air priority. She can probably beat just about anyone out while in the air. Use her Shell Kick whenever an opponent is either below her or on the same plane. It'll always win out. Her J.Fierce also gives her good priority and she can even pull off a Shadow Blade for opponents that are above her. Be careful against Spider-Man, Gambit and Chun Li in the air though.
- Well, it doesn't really affect the gameplay, but Morrigan is just pure eye candy. Everything she does is extremely slutty and entertaining to watch. If you like that kind of stuff, you should love her too. Hehehe....
- She doesn't take attacks too well either. A few good combos from a more powerful character will easily kill her. Be careful and always watch her life meter.
- Though her supers hurt, the only one that can be consistently comboed is the Silhouette Blade. Most of the time, her supers are only good for counter attacking or after a helper.
- Morrigan has ok jump in atatcks, but if you're fighting a character with good anti air skills, it's best to not use a normal jump in. Instead, you should learn how to air dash effectively. Most people won't expect it and they'll end up getting confused.
- If you've killed one of your opponent's characters, pull off an Eternal Slumber and catch the incoming character as he's jumping in. He won't have any way of avoiding it unless he's got a double jump or some other way of air escaping.
- If you're gonna stay in their face, constantly dash in and zigzag on the buttons. They'll have little chance of retaliating because of her speed and you might actually tag em with an attack.
- When playing keep away, throw out several fireballs in the corner. When they figure out the fact that you're playing keep away, they'll try to get near you. Air dash to the other side of the screen and continue. Needless to say, it'll piss anyone off.
- If you need to stay up in the air to avoid a beam super, just throw out a lot of fireballs. They'll be able to keep her airborne indefinitely.
Second Form - When fighting Ultima Onslaught, just keep jumping around and avoiding his Eye Beams. Hit him with a J.Fierce, J.Roundhouse combo when you have a chance and when he's close to the ground, let him have it with a Soul Eraser. None of her other supers will do jack against him so only do this one.
- Keep your wits while fighting her. She'll use a lot mind tricks to keep you on your toes, but there will usually be a pattern. Figure it out and punish her.
- Morrigan takes hits like a baby, so if you decide to trade hits with her, you'll usually come out on top. Just don't get by any supers. Stick and move, hit and run. She can run away pretty good, but if you can hit her a few times, it should be over.
- As soon as you see her do the Eternal Slumber, pull out a beam super. It'll neutralize that pathetic heart and it'll catch her in stun animation as well. Not only will they lose three levels of super meter, they'll also lose Morrigan. hehehehe...
