Cyber AkumaWow....it's hard to believe ain't it? First there's regular Akuma from SSF2T, then there was Shin Akuma from the Alpha series and now, even though you though it wasn't possible to make him even tougher, it's Cyber Akuma. Without a doubt, he is the best boss that Capcom has ever designed. He's hard to beat without being impossible to kill like Gill, he's not overpowered and cheap like Bison was and he's not a pushover like Thanos. Basically, he's Akuma with pumped up moves, pumped up supers as well as speed and priority. He's even faster than Wolverine in his Berserker Rage mode. Cyber Akuma takes damage like Apocalypse and he dishes it out like Hulk and Zangief put together. It's definitely a tough fight and even the best players have fallen to this guy every now and then. Pay close attention to this section cause the opportunity to see your character's ending just might depend on it.
Cyber Hadoken
Cyber Akuma's fireball just rocks. It is as big as Ryu's, moves even faster than Akuma's and does more damage than Dan's. This is definitely the best fireball in the whole game.
You'll still end up losing a lot block damage though cause he throws these out all the time. While in the air, he always throws out two in a row. The second one can be blocked even if you get
hit by the first, though. While on the ground, he'll either follow up his fireball with a second one or a hard
knuckle.
Hard Knuckle
Straight from the Megaman series is the hard knuckle. You think Apocalypse knew Dr. Wily? Anyways, the projectile fires out very quickly and will even track your character. You will be set on fire if it hits and it does very good damage. However, Cyber Akuma does have to take his time to reform another hand so you can take advantage of his vulnerability. This is generally an easier move to counter than his double fireball cause it can be easily jumped over.
Cyber Dragon Punch
Ouch ouch ouch! This move simply hurts! Cyber Akuma spreads his wings and does a Dragon Punch that hits from 6-10
times. This is truly the pinnacle of the Shotokan technique. If you jump in on him, and he counters with this, you'll think twice about jumping at him again. No other move will outprioritize this. There's no avoiding it and for some reason, I can't block
it. However, jumping in on him is very important to beating him so you've gotta risk it
sometimes.
Booster Hurricane Kick
Rocket boosters come out of Cyber Akuma's waist as he spins his legs around. Electricity crackles all around and will light up your character if you are hit. It does an absurd amount of damage and can set you up for a lot of corner traps and combos. Push block if you can and block low as soon as he is landing. Don't try to counter unless you're sure of impact cause he is extremely fast and will usually hit you first.
Rocket Dive Kick
This is just like Akuma's Demon Dive but much faster and deadlier. Cyber Akuma comes down at a sixty degree angle and pummels his opponent with his
feet. He has almost no recovery time on this move and it pretty much sets him up for a whole bunch of huge combos. It's almost impossible to counter this so just be smart and
block. Try to jump away or push block if you can, to prevent any combos by him.
Cyber Teleport
Cyber Akuma takes a horse stance and teleports toward or away from you. He moves very quickly and he is totally invulnerable while doing this. He will use this to get near and kill you or he'll use it to play keep away. This is really an annoying move because he will teleport if you try to get near him and then he'll throw out some fireballs when he's on the other side of the screen. Then he'll keep repeating till his meter is filled up and he can pull off a super on you. Stay on the ground if you think he's gonna do this cause he is slightly vulnerable while coming out of it.
Scramble Gou Punch
This is just unfair! A Shoryu Reppa type of move should not be able to do this much
damage. Not only is it the fastest move in the game and can combo off of anything that he does, it also does even more damage than the Chaos Dimension or Gamma
Wave. This is probably the super that he will use most often against you. He is vulnerable while coming down, but don't wait for him to land before countering. Hit him while he's still in the air with a launcher or anti-air move. If you let him land, then he will be able to attack you before your character starts moving to strike. In the corner, he'll even land behind you, so keep that in mind or you might leave yourself open to counter attack.
High Mega Gou Beam
Geez! Cyber Akuma powers up, spreads his wings and releases a flaming red Shinkuu Hadoken. This
move is just incredible. His beam super is even better than Ryu's. It hits between 35-45 times and does incredible
damage. If you see it coming, then block and push block it immediately. You can greatly reduce the block damage that you take from this move by doing this. For some reason, it is difficult to air block it so try to either be on the ground or way up in a super jump when this beam of death is coming.
Thunder Gou Shower
When Cyber Akuma does this move, it looks like the entire screen is filled with
fireballs. While in the air, he powers up and bombards his opponent with 45+ of those big red fireballs that he
has. It does insane damage if it hits and even more insane chipping damage if it's blocked. There's almost no way to avoid this if you're in front of him cause of the speed that it comes out with and the huge area that it covers. However, if you are able to run or super jump behind him, he is extremely vulnerable.
Don't wait for him to land though. Hit him in the air.
Shining Gou Shock
Cyber Akuma's Raging Demon! This move is just amazing. He will pull it out of nowhere and it will almost always take you by surprise. If he pulls it off while you're on the ground, it's hard for even Wolverine or Spiderman to avoid it and totally impossible for Hulk, Blackheart and Zangief. After he catches your character, you'll see the combo meter rise up to 24 hits. When they reappear, 85% of your characters life will be
gone. He's most probably dead but if not, then he will be, cause the damage is
unrecoverable. Even if you switch out, that damage won't regenerate. The worst thing is that he only needs one level of super meter to pull this off. This is a good reason to not turtle against Cyber
Akuma. Stay in the air if you're smart.
Ok here we go....there are a lot of rules that you should follow when fighting Cyber Akuma. If you don't know them or you stubbornly choose to ignore them, then you will most probably die. First of all, do not throw fireballs at him cause he will always be able to nullify them with his own, plus he can throw two of them at a time so you'll get hit by his second one. Only Cyclops has a fast enough projectile to beat out Cyber Akuma. You might get lucky now and then but it's still a major risk and you will always come out as the loser in fireball fights against him.
Secondly, do not throw out your supers if all you intend to do is chip damage. This is cause he doesn't lose a lot of block damage to begin with. He's also extremely fast and he'll be able to counter immediately if you're even remotely near him. Unless you are a character that can throw out a super from long distance (i.e. Ryu, Cyclops), or you have a super that will push him away (i.e. Hulk, Omega Red), don't try it. Combo supers such as Weapon X and Final Justice work very very well against him as long as you are sure that you'll hit. The best time to pull these off is if he screws up his Shoryu Reppa and his Air Fireball supers or if he's teleporting. Other than that, save your meter for when it will really count.
Do not try to team counter him. Most of his attacks are multi hitting and very very fast. You'll just end up getting your partner killed. The only time that you should try to counter is if your partner has an extremely fast counter with good range and only if he's not doing a multi hitting move. Cyclops is a good partner to counter with if Cyber Akuma's doing any of his fireball attacks from the ground. I'm not sure how well all the counters work but I'm pretty sure that you should not counter with Chun-Li and Dhalsim cause their counters are just way too slow. Hulk and Captain America are good partners to counter with cause they will be able to take a few hits before stopping.
The best way to beat Cyber Akuma is with combos and throws. Do them whenever you can. Try to launch him and if he blocks, throw him. Though he loses very little damage from normal attacks and supers, throws do a lot of damage against him. Besides, he's not gonna stop in the middle of the fight and call you a cheap bastard, so throw as much s possible? Do whatever you can to beat him and do it fast.
Always super jump or jump to avoid his ground combos cause he's got a lot of those and they come out really really fast. The best thing to do against Cyber Akuma is to basically stay in the air and wait for openings in his attacks. Never get overconfident cause he is the hands-down, best comeback character of the game. Jjust when you think you've won, he'll pull off a Raging Demon and kill you!
