The proprietors, Martine and Jerry van Walsum, invite you over to Art Cafe " Du Kalbar ", have a coffee, or a light meal, have a look in our delicatessen corner, or in our art gallery with paintings and jewellery from local and international artists, and lots more.
All this served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

KALBAR - STAR OF THE FASSIFERN.

Population about 800 people, a nice little country town, located in the Boonah Shire.

Kalbar is certainly worth a visit as a daytrip destination.

In Kalbar are some very nice, old and historic buildings to be seen, such as The Emporium, The Royal Hotel, The General Store, Art Cafe " Du Kalbar ", The Wiss House - bed & breakfast, The Wiss Cottage, which is still in the restoration stage, and many other country style buildings and houses.

The road from Ipswich to Kalbar is a very pleasant drive, with beautiful country sceneries, and as a constant background the mountains from the Great Dividing Range can be seen.

On the map Kalbar can be found between Ipswich and Boonah. Driving from Brisbane to Ipswich, take the turn-off to Warwick, this is the Cunningham Highway. Follow the highway till the turn-off for Boonah. Take the turn-off for Boonah, this is the Ipswich-Boonah Road. After about 15 km you will arrive in a little town, named, Peak Crossing. In Peak Crossing, after the bridge, turn right, and follow the road signs to Kalbar.
