MVAC Star Prarties
During the months of March through October each year depending on the weather The MVAC hosts free and open to the public star parties on the third Saturday of each month at the parking area at the top of Ravalli Hill just off of highway 93. The rest area has restrooms picnic tables and is paved. Observing begins as soon as it is dark.  Observing is conducted with a variety of telescopes.  Instruction is given on how to use telescopes,  find constelations and information is given on many interesting subjects.

The MVAC also conducts unscheduled star parties for members and hosts observing and other astronomy related activities for groups and organizations in Northwestern Montana. 

All activities are subject to Montana weather conditions.   All that are interested in club activities are notified via club e-mail or by phone of any unscheduled activities and schedule changes.

All club activities are made possible by donations and controbutions of time, material and funding by club members, individuals and business's.

Our  public star party scedule has been changed from the last Saturday of each month to the third Saturday of each month this year to avoid the glare of the bright moon so that we can view other things than just the moon.
