ABOUT THE  MVAC
The Mission Valley Astronomy Club (MVAC) is located in the beautiful Mission Valley  of
Northwestern Montana on the Flathead Indian Reservation. To the east of the Valley is the majestic Mission Range section of the Rocky Mountains.  To the west the National Bison Range and Fathead River.  Flathead Lake is at the north end of the valley, and to the south over the mountains is the city of Missoula, Montana.
The Mission Valley is mostly rural area  and there is not much light pollution and we are blessed with some fair to dark skies.

The Mission Valley Astronomy Club was established in 1999 by a couple of local amateur astronomers that enjoy sharing their passon and knowledge of astronomy with others, and to provide a means for those that are interested in astronomy  to learn about and enjoy the science/hobby of astronomy.
The purpose of  the MVAC is to gather a wide variety of individuals sharing a common interest in astronomy and space in order to share ideas and information and add to their knoledge and experience.

Since it's meager beginnings in 1999, the MVAC has growen to over 50+ members today.  The members interest  in astronomy is vaired from observing any and every celestial object to astrophysics.  Membership is open to all,  owning a telescope or knowledge of astronomy is not a requirment.

The MVAC officers and members continually strive to improve the resources, scope and quality of the club to it's members and local communities.

Club activities are made possible by donations and contributions of time, material and funding by club members, individuals and business's.
