Hi! Here's a diary of Amanda's progress:
June 5:
Amanda graduated from Brookwood Junior High School on June 2. She has
been accepted to Marian High School and starts summer school on June 14.
she is signed up for Cheer camp and Tennis. She plans to concentrate on
theatre arts and drawing in High School, as well as math and the sciences....She's
good at both.
The tumor board at Children's Memorial Hospital has met and we are waiting for the results. I think they will be good, since all her neuro signs are improving. The next step is to get her set up for Gamma Radiation treatments at Northwestern Hospital.
Monday, Feb. 2: blood
draw and lab work. Good news: the count was good. Another blood draw and
lab work on Thursday.
Amanda looked forward
to Saturday Feb 7, her first social event since the onset of her "experience".
There was a tennis-pizza party at Children's Memorial Hospital. This
party was for all the chemo kids. They were all looking forward to,
and had, a fun afternoon.
On Feb. 19 Taryn will go into the hospital for a five day stay when
she will undergo a more extensive chemo treatment and monitoring. She
still has a long way to go.
March 3: Good
news today.....We had our first MRI post-diagnosis and it turned out
Fabulous....
the head of Neurosurgery was happening to walk by, saw Amanda on the
schedule just as we finished, he looked at the chart and said that the
tumor had shrunk 75-80%
I looks like all the prayers and well-wishes from everyone has paid
off...not to mention the skills of the doctors.....
