| "Hmmm... Give me a minute to think about it... Stay here." The coach leaves, excitedly, and returns after a few moments with an affirmative reply. By then, he sees that Kizuko is already in uniform. "Let's play boys! Go out and make me proud!" he yells. The tipoff begins and the replacement Forward is on fire. Shinro tries to steal the ball, but is deliberately fouled by the opposing Forward. He groans as he falls backwards on the court. "Who is that guy?" he mutters angrily under his breath. "Go, Shinro! Shinro Azumari! Go, Shinro! Jigoka High!" screams the cheerleaders. From her vantage point, all Asagi can see is that her ream is getting clobbered. "Get on a Jigoka High!" she cheers, pubnching her pompoms into the air. Play continues. Jigoka's not looking too good. Neither is Shinro. The Jouji team is winning by thirty points, the highest score on record. There are five seconds lerf until game over. Shinro takes the ball and tries to make the shot, but his concentration is broken by his injuries from his fall. He misses and collapses to his knees on the court. The bell rings and the game ends. As he sits on the floor, angrily, the Joiji Forward whispers to him, "Better luck next time, Azumari!" Then he snickers, walking away. Before Shinro can reply, Asagi is sitting next to him. "I'm so sorry, Shinro. You did your best. They just got lucky. Come on, Shinro," she prods, pulling him up. "We're ordering out tonight. Stay for dinner. It'll calm you down." Shinro stares at Asagi, then, after a moment, he smiles. "Where are we ordering from?" |
