GOING SOLO
Nick Carter is the youngest member of the Backstreet Boys. He first
decided to record a solo record in 2001. It started when the Backstreet
Boys were mad at their management compony The Firm. The Backstreet Boys
decided once again to go try to find another manager. Nick however,
decided to stay with The Firm while he was working on his solo album.
The rest of the boys didn't like this. But Nick still decided to stick
with them. Nick started recording his solo album. In 2002 Nick Carter
released his first solo single, "Help Me." His second single will be
"Do I Have To Cry For You." 2002 has been a busy year for Nick Carter.
Nick Carter actually released two cds that year. His first cd that was
released is called "Before The 'Boys'" which had cover songs performed
by Nick Carter before he joined the Backstreet Boys. He performed the
songs between the years 1985 and 1994. His other cd, the cd officially
known as his first ever solo cd, Now Or Never, came out on Oct 29th, 2002.
It has the hit "Help Me" and the soon to be hit "Do I Have To Cry For You."
Nick Carter co-wrote 6 songs on the cd. He worked with a number of famous
Producers. Nick Carter has indeed has been busy in 2002. He has also been
tour in Europe for most of the year to promote his first solo cd and in
late October returned to the USA to promote his his CD. When Nick is done touring around the world and promoting his solo cd the Backstreet Boys will be back in the studio recording thier new cd which will be out in 2003, thier 10 year anniversory.
BEFORE THE "BOYS"
Nick Carter was born in Jamestown, New York. He was born in the same hospital
as Lucille Ball of I love Lucy. At the time of Nick's birth his dad and
grandfather owned a bar called Yankee Rebel. When Nick was about five or six his
family decided to move down to Florida. While Nick went to Miles Elementary, his first
school, he did his very first play, "The Phatom Of The Opera." Right after that
he started doing commericals for places like the Money Store and he even did a
commercial for the lottery. He also enjoyed to sing and dance. He couldn't
decide what he liked more so he tried to do all three, he sang, danced,
and acted. When Nick was 12 his big day hit. Nick had audtioned for both
The Mickey Mouse Club which would have made him work with Justin, JC, and
Joey of *NSYNC, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilerra. He also, at the same time,
auditioned for the Backstreet Boys, both called him back saying they wanted
him. But as we can all tell, he turned down the Mickey Mouse Club and joined
the Backstreet Boys.
HIS FAMILY
Nick has 3 sisters: BJ, Lesslie, and Angel. He has 1 bother: Aaron. Aaron
and Angel are twins.
