Political Correctness

What has society degraded to when we are too afraid of offending someone to say what we really mean. Everything has to be �PC� and if you say anything even slightly controversial than you are automatically the fucking anti-Christ. Oh no I referred to someone as �black� instead of �African American.� Who really cares? Who am I offending? No One!!! And yet somehow some little white busybody will overhear you say that and look down on you for it. Because you are being �racist� or �insensitive.� I guess my next question is why would this lady be offended, I mean it�s one thing if the actual minority has a problem with the statement (although I still don�t c why it�s being culturally insensitive) but this is a white person. How much more of a majority can you be? Because if you notice the people that you are supposedly �offending� don�t really care. It�s just the overly sensitive tree huggers who have made the whole population afraid to say what they think, because if someone does then they will somehow hurt someone�s feelings and be labeled �racist� or �communist.� So what if you hurt someone�s feelings? Life sucks, not everyone is going to agree with you, SO DEAL WITH IT. Now I�m not condoning racism or prejudice in the least, but there is a difference between hating a particular sect of the population because of their ethnicity and just using a word to classify them. On that note I would also like to bring it to everyone�s attention that not every black person is an �African American�, some people are actually �Africans� and some are other ethnicities as well. So if anything you are being more offensive by incorrectly classifying someone. And another thing� so you have to call a minority �Asian American or Native American� and yet Caucasians are just called �white�. Hmm something doesn�t make sense here now does it? PC�ness does not extend only to ethnicity though; some subjects have just become taboo in our society. Bring up the subject of depression being complete bullshit or of suicide being justified and you have to be ready to hear a lecture of how someone knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who has this problem and you just don�t understand the problem. Like these people know any better than you. The only people who truly understand what these �depressed� and �suicidal� people are thinking is them, and I have just as much right as anyone else to voice my views on the subject without being put down for it. I agree that some statements really shouldn't be said, but i think that society has taken it a little too far. If these bleeding heart liberals really want to make the world a better place then wouldn�t it be more beneficial for them to let people say what they thing? Plus they are always fighting for peoples rights...well isn't freedom of speech maybe the 1st amendment? Naah see that makes too much sense, and when you are that stoned it�s kinda hard to comprehend logic.
