| What kinds of activities are clubs involved in? Campus Activities Socail Clubs participate in most of the activities that occur on campus throughout the school year. These activities include Octoberfest, BKT All Sing, Sophomore/Junior Rivalry, Junior/Senior Rivalry, Welcome Week, W Day Weekend, and more. Community Service Social clubs are active in community service in many different ways. Each club has adopted an organization that it takes on as it's main philanthropy for each school year. Some of these organizations include St. Jude's Children's Hospital, The Palmer Home, The Mark Mitchelle Shelter, Helping Hands, and others. Rush Rush is the member intake process which eight out of the nine social clubs take part in. Intermurals The majority of social clubs activly participate in the W's growing intermural program. They play a number of sports including flag football, softball, soccer, basketball, cross country, tennis, swimming, kick ball, ultimate frisbee, and volleyball. Songfest Held each year during W Day weekend, Songfest is a dance compitition in which socail clubs as well as other organizations compete in. Clubs choreograph their own dance routine and perform it in front of friends, family, and perspective students. Fund Raisers As with any organizations, social clubs depend on fund riasers to earn money to keep their clubs running. Fund raisers that clubs usually participate in include car washes, singing telegram services, bake sales, and of corse selling donuts, magazines, movie tickets, candy, or just about anything else. Socail Events While most club functions are aimed at service or fund raising, clubs also do many things just for member to enjoy, such as parties, formals, shopping trips, movie nights, cookouts, pool parties, and much more. |
