| Name: Sheila Bonaventure Classification: Freshman Major: Culinary Arts Hometown: Liberty, MS Other Organizations: Hearin Leadership Program & College Democrats Favorite part of being in a Social Club: Since I'm so far from home the girls in my club have become my family here. They help me with my problems and give me the moral support that I really need. Favorite thing to do with your Social Club sisters: I love it when we all just get together and watch a movie or eat dinner. No politics or school stuff going on, just us hanging out together and showing each other how much we care about the others. Favorite memory made through your Club: I have so many that it is hard to narrow it down to just one. I think one of the best things about being in a social club is just hanging out with the other members and sharing that sence of family. Favorite memory from Rush: The fact that I knew someone from each club was awesome. The fact that people in the social clubs had taken the time to just get to know me as a person and not a pledge or a potential pledge was awesome. |

| How has being in a Social Club made a difference in your college experience? I believe that being in a social club does give a person a sence of family where as if you are in a political group or some other organziation it is less personal. I know that if I ever have a problem I can call any of my actives or my pledge sisters and they will be willing to do everything in their power to help me out. They have become large parts of my life and I don't know how I truely got along with out them. What makes your club unique? Rogue is unique because we are so close. I look at some of the other clubs and I don't understand how they keep up with everyone. I know everyone in our club's schedule, and I have a very active drive to keep in touch with our local alums. Rogue helps build character and self-respect. The bonds of sisterhood that Rogues share are unbreakable and that is what I have searched for, for a long time. Would you recommend being a Social Club memeber to others? I would really recommend at least going through rush. I know some people aren't the social club type and would just rather not be pushed. I think just making the attempt to go through rush gives people a chance to come out and see just how clubs enteract with each other (meaning other clubs and the club's memebers). So yes, I think social clubs are wonderful if not for everyone and would highly recommend becoming a part of a social club. |
