The Twisted World of Windhurst

Let the Riots begin!

It didnt take long for me to grow restless in this place. I was fine obeying the rules of the House and learning a trade to serve the Windurst nation and mithra community. My problem was the Windurst mithra. The ones who had taken up guard work I identified with more, and I liked those who had completely embraced Windurstian lifestyle. I could not understand why mithra would follow a chieftainness who sat on a dock with her eyes closed. I had asked around and so I knew she was not blind, she sat as such because it was her belief that in such a manner she listened to life.

I managed to fit in for almost a year. Then I started asking questions that they didnt like. How did having your eyes closed tune you to nature? Why wasnt the chieftainness behaving as the warrior leader she was supposed to be? Why hadnt she dealt with the bandits starting to form? How was she to be a chieftainness worthy of the Mithra of Windurst?

Questions are not disallowed amongst the mithra, even such as these. It is believed, and rightly so, that they keep the chieftainness on the path of the hunter. Such questioning only works though when the questions are carefully pondered and the chieftainness enters a time of deep reflection to fix any flaws that maybe discovered. Only, I was not born into the clan of the Windurst mithra so the blood bonds were not there. Still, I was called before the chieftainness again.

Perih Vashai, Chieftainness.
Perhi Vashai of the Azure Bow

You have questions, little one. The mithra on the left spoke.

I now knew the Chieftainness generally did not speak, the left attendant was the one you generally spoke with, the right spoke less often.

Why wont she speak to me? Orrr to any mithrrra?

Because she does not have to. We can speak forrr herrr and allow herrr to rrremain at commune with naturrre.

So I fired off my questions and was answered as I expected to be, with more nature nonsense. I respected nature, and still do, I am mithra and we are raised as such, but to become so focused on hearing natures voice is ridiculous to me, now as it was then. My questions were answered to their satisfaction and I was sent away.

I was not calmed and begin asking my questions to those in the House. They were raised in Kahzam as I was and I could not believe they were complacent with such a leader. Soon I had the older mithra questioning as well. It didnt take long for me to once again be summoned. This time only the mithra on the right spoke.

Kitten, you arrre causing trrrouble amongst the clan. Questioning is good and acceptable but to turn the clan on a chieftainness who has answerrred all questions to satisfaction is wrrrong.

To yourrr satisfaction, not mine. And trrruthfully she did not answerrr at all. She cannot behave as a chieftainness when she turrrns a blind eye to life and only listens to naturrre. A chieftainness-

This is not Kahzam!

I became very aware of the fact that I was not of their clan, not a born member of their tribe.

To turrrn on a chieftainness is against all trrribe rrrules. You arrre young and so we will not brrring the full prrrice upon you. Yourrr punishment will be confinement in the Horototo Rrruins outside Odins Gate. You will be perrrmitted food and drrrink and instrrruction at appointed times in the day. When yourrr rrrespect forrr the clan has rrreturned, you may rrreturn.
