| In June I took a break, and went down to the south of France where a friendhas a holiday home. The road is FAST and furious, it winds up over the mountains and is packedfull, the only route in and the only route out. . Then I spotted a dog, other side of the road. But was impossible to stop. On my way back,it must have been 6 hours since I passed the dog, I had come through a fast narrow tunnel before I saw her, so I guessed she would be around that area if she had not been found by her owners. I passed through the tunnel, had not seen her :( but then ...... there she was!!!!! She had walked around 7-8 miles and through the tunnel, along a road wide enough just for two trucks to pass and no paths...... The car was stopped NO OPTION! She was soaked through, and very cold! I just opened the back of my car and pushed her rear and she jumped in. I got back to the house, she did not want to drink nor eat. The picture of her is of then! Wet miserable and unhappy.. What to call her?? I decided the name of the Village I had passed after picking her up. Olette! |
| Back home and to the vets. Her age was guessed at around 3yrs.She was chipped and all the injections given. With the advice to feed her up as she is too thin. And so Olette was mine :)))) But I returned a week later as she was losing fur like crazy.. There was the news; SHE WAS PREGNANT! "but not many" !! So my dog would prove a little more than I had expected. An xray 2 weeks later and I was again told "not many" 5 maybe 6! and in the next 10-15 days. Well the vet was way off!! That night she got the shivers and produced the gorgeous 8 you see pictured :) Oh that night was so wonderful, and so long! So I have spent just over 2 months now with my home being destroyed :) I have managed to rehome 4! and I have decided to keep 2 (Jenny and Eddie). The father or fathers would be maybe a Mastiff Labrador mix? There is Olettes story! good or bad, she is with me now. |
