Surah Fatihah

Surah Fatihah - Recited by Sheikh Saad Al-Ghamdi

1. In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

2. Praise be to God, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds;

3. Most Gracious, Most Merciful;

4. Master of the Day of Judgment.

5. Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek.

7. Show us the straight way,

8. The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.

    Vitrues of Surah Fatihah

    Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal recorded in the Musnad that Abu Sa'id bin Al-Mu'alla said
    "Shall I not teach you the greatest Surah in the Qur'an before you leave the Masjid?" So he ! took me by my hand until we were about to leave the Masjid, (when) I said: 'Oh Messenger of Allah !, you said that you would teach me the greatest Surah in the Qur'an.' He ! said: "Alhamdu illahi Rabbil Alamin (i.e. Surah Al-Fatihah); it is the Seven Repeatedly Recited Verses, and the Grand Qur'an which has been given to me."
    [Sahih al-Bukhari, Abu Dawud, An-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah]
