Rogue

So you like them mysterious, huh? Well, I'd watch out if I was you. You see, Rogue is a knock-out - literally. Her mutant power means she can absorb a person's life-force - and in the case of mutants, their powers - just by touching them. And she cannot control this power, so one kiss of hers can leave you more than breathless. Just ask Bobby.

Rogue came to us with Logan, the man with the adamant skeleton and no past. She was in a panic, and frightened about her powers - I would be, too, if I were in her shoes. We don't know exactly who she is, or where she came from - although it sounds like Mississippi, from her accent.

After arriving here at Mutant High, Professor Xavier assumed that the reason Sabertooth had attacked her and Logan while further north was that he was after Logan, to bring him back to Magneto. Boy was he wrong. It turned out that he was really after Rogue, so he could use her to power this great big machine of his which would turn humans into mutants. But the machine was a flop, as it would kill the intended mutant-to-be. Senator Kelly was the poor sap who got on the wrong side of Magneto in this case.

After an altercation with Logan late at night, resulting in three stab wounds to the chest, and one set of healing powers being drained, Rogue left the school, without letting anyone know. All of us were worried, Bobby in particular. It seemed that the poor boy had already fallen hard for this Southern belle. But while the affairs of us teenagers went on, the adults set out to find the missing student. Logan, although ordered to stay within the confines of the mansion, broke the rules (again!) and went out after Rogue. He found her at the train station (which he had arrived at by stealing Cyclops' motorcycle), at about the same time that Storm and Cyclops did. But they were not the only ones.

Magneto and his gang were also there at the train station. Toad and Sabertooth were there to take care of Cyclops and Storm, respectively, and Magneto went for the Rogue. Logan tried to stop him from taking her (after realising that it was not him Magneto was after), but failed, as he has a skeleton made of metal, and Magneto is the master of Magnetism.

Once he had Rogue in his magnetic grip, he transported her to Liberty Island, where he had decided to launch his attack, and was not far from a UN Summit meeting. From here he was to make almost all of the most powerful people in the world mutants. And then they could not condemn us for being what we are. Nice enough in theory, but not so good in practice.

So Magneto transferred his power to Rogue, and forced her to power the machine. Luckily, the X-Men stopped Magneto, and the members of the UN were saved from forced mutancy, which would eventually kill them. Rogue nearly died atop of the statue that night, but Logan was willing to sacrifice himself to save her - he transferred his healing factor to her.

That was but the first of Rogue's adventures. But during her break between those adventures, she and Bobby grew closer together. Although he knew of her mutation, and its consequences, he still persisted. Wish I had a guy like that. Moving on, Rogue's presence seemed to have sparked something in the other teenage male with an interest in Rogue - John. Obviously jealous at what was going on (although neither Rogue nor Bobby seemed to notice), John seemed to turn to the dark side of his powers. He used his powers to destroy some police cars, but Rogue stopped him using her powers. But after that the two lovebirds either did not notice that, and were more concerned about other things. . .
. . . Like Rogue falling out of a plane . Yes, she fell out of a plane , but was rescued by a new recruit, Kurt Wagner, who teleported her back into the confines of the plane, where it was caught and brought safely back down to earth by Rogue's old friend, Magneto. After a few comments about her new hairdo, Magneto and Mystique followed the X-Men into the base. This left Rogue, Bobby and John in the jet. During the commotion, John switched sides, and Rogue flew (very badly, though) a plane for them to escape in.

She and the other X-Men and students all grieved for the losses of Jean Grey and John, but there were some far more important things to be done. Like prove to the President that the X-Men, and mutants in general, were not responsible for the attack on the White House. They informed him of the truth (which they had gained thanks to Kitty), and left him to make up his own mind as to the 'mutant menace'.

At the end of all of this, Rogue, along with Bobby, were given uniforms, proclaiming them fully-fledged members of the X-Men.

I am not jealous.
