Wolverine

Logan

His name is Logan. He has a skeleton of adamantium, the unbreakable metal, and a healing factor to rival all others. And he has no idea who he really is.

Logan is an enigma, or perhaps a puzzle. Yes, a puzzle is a good way of describing him. He's got about half the pieces he needs to make the puzzle, but not the rest, and he has no idea of what the picture is, so the pieces he has are pretty much useless. But that is one of the reason why he is here at the school - to find out who he is. And to learn to control that bestial personality that keeps clawing its way to the surface. If you don't believe me, ask the soldiers who invaded our home. Oh, wait, you can't, because Logan took care of them. Permanently.

Logan first set out (unknowingly, of course) on the road to our humble little school when he stumbled upon another mutant, just as lost and confused as he was. She was a runaway, and her name was Rogue. She had fled north after putting her boyfriend in a coma, and found her way into this seedy little bar where Logan was 'working'. Working as in cage fighting. He was doing this to make a bit of cash, and he wasn't half-bad at it. Of course, having a mutant power that heals all injuries, the most minor in a matter of seconds, and having a skeleton of the hardest and strongest metal imagniable doesn't hurt either. At least, it doesn;t hurt you too bad. Your opponent on the other hand. . . Not so good for them, I'm afraid. So the poor loser of the fight (some hick from that 'city' as they had the nerve to call it) decided to reclaim his lost digmity by trying to pick another fight with Logan. This continued with a few stupid 'mutant' remarks, and it ended with dumb hick up against the wall, and adamantium claws at his throat. Logan was thrown out of the bar, and was followed by Rogue, who had been watching the whole thing.
In the beginning, Logan was not happy about having a teenage girl come up to him, and was definitely not pleased that she snuck on board his mobile home. So he showed yher who was the boss. . . by letting her ride up front. The Wolverine has a soft spot after all. Don't tell him I said that, though. Anyway, he and Rogue set off on a journey, but were waylaid by another viscious mutant, with very similar powers to Logan: Sabertooth. He felled a tree to block the path of Logan's oncoming vehicle, and used this to attack him with the element of surprise. Luckily, Storm and Cyclops came along to rescue the pair from Sabertooth.

So the two wanderers came to Xavier's School, and began to cause quite a stir. First there was that thing between Logan and Jean - which is not a good thing for students to watch, let me tell you - and then there was the sleeping problems. You see, Logan was not settling in as well as everyone hoped, and was having a few nightmares. Rogue was the first to hear him, and went to his aid. However, she could not wake him up by touching him, and so hovered over him, concerned. But he woke up, and not realising what was happening, stabbed her. She touched him to get his healing factor, and then ran off, out of the room, and later out of the school.
So the concerned Logan left the (relative) safety of the school , and went in search of Rogue, even though he had been instructed by Xavier to stay at the school, as Magneto was after him (that was why Sabertooth, a member of the Brotherhood - the one who looks like a giant pussy cat! He he! - had attacked him and Rogue). Of course, Logan did not listen, and went straight out in search of Rogue. He found her at the train station (and he had arrived there by 'borrowing' Cyclops' motocycle) and convinced her to come back with him to the school. But nothing is never that easy, especially for mutants. Magneto showed up, and Logan, still thinking it was him Magneto was after, tried to defend himself and Rogue - he failed, as Logan as an adamantium skeleton, and Magneto is the master of magnetism. But then Magneto revealed that it wasn't Logan he wanted at all.

What Magneto really wanted was Rogue, so that he could transfer his powers to her and use her to power the machine that would turn all the powerful political people of the world into mutants. At this point Magneto did not know that his machine was a failure. But to the top of the Statue of Liberty he took Rogue, with the X-Men in hot pursuit. Now one of the X-Men, it seemed, Logan went with them - in full uniform (which he had made fun of) I might add.
But there were difficulties. The first of which was the shape-shifter, Mystique, who caused chaos amongst the X-Men by disguising herself first as Wolverine, and engaging him while Toad fought the others, and then as Storm. But Logan was able to smell the real Mystique, and with one swift stab, took her out of the game.
But it was not over. Sabertooth was stalking the top of the Statue, keeping the X-Men at bay while Magneto transfered his power to the frightened Rogue. In an awesome fight atop the statue between him and Sabertooth, Logan came out the victor.
This meant that the X-Men could now rescue Rogue. But the problem was how, because the machine she was in was in was spinning so fast that there was no way of breaking the machine without killing her. So it was Logan to the rescue. Using Storm's wind powers, combined with Jean's telepathy, Logan was able to fly up to the machine, and cut Rogue free (Magneto did try to stop him, but Cyclops took care of that). But the power usage had nearly killed her. And in an act of self-sacrifice, Logan transfered his healing power to her, and saved her life. After his own recovery, Logan headed north on the path that Professor X had set him. . .

. . . only to return just in time to babysit us X-Kids. Our parents were going out. Our mothers, Jean and Storm, were off to find the mutant who attacked the President, and our fathers, Professor X and Cyclops, were off to visit Magneto. So Logan got stuck with us. On the worst possible night to be babysitting, too - the night the mansion was invaded.
Logan was able to hold his own against the soldiers - actually, he kicked their butts - and managed to get a few of the students out, namely Bobby, Rogue and John. But before they left, Logan was confronted with Colonel Stryker, who appeared to know about Logan's past - a bit too well. But he and the three students managed to escape - by 'borrowing' Cyclops' car.
Knowing Jean and Storm were in Boston, Logan and the others headed there. As Bobby's parents and brother lived in Boston, Logan decided that they would pay them a visit. After meeting the Drakes, the four ended up on the Drake's doorstep, surrounded by police. As Logan does, he whipped out his claws, ready to face whatever was stupid enough to try and take him on. In this case it was a very nervous policeman with a gun. When ordered to put down the 'knives' Logan replied that he couldn't, and so the all ready nervous cop panicked, and pulled the trigger. He was not a bad shot, as he hit Logan right in the forehead. Logan went down, but when you have an indestructable skeleton - skull included - plus an amazing healing factor, you're gonna be hard to kill.

So Logan got right back up, and he and the others got on the X-Jet, which and Jean and Storm had piloted down into the Drake's quiet - sorry, formerly quiet - street, and headed north to Alkali Lake, where they believed the Professor X and Cyclops had been taken. But there was something interesting there for Logan. Make that two things.
The first was Colonel Stryker, who revealed that it was he who had put the adamantium skeleton in him and had taken his memories.
But that was not the only surprise that Stryker had in store for Logan. That was when he stepped aside and let his personal assistant introduce herself. Her name was Deathstrike, and she and Logan had a lot in common. . . like incredible healing factors and adamantium skeletons. But where Logan had claws, she had. . . fingernails.

After what was probably one of the most difficult - and painful - fights of Logan's very long life, Logan was the victor, and Deathstrike was dead. From there, he went and aided the others in rescuing the children, then escaped with them outside. With Artie in his arms, he confronted Stryker one last time, and then headed to the jet.

But there was a problem. The jet was not working. And so Jean Grey left the jet and helped it restart. Then the water from the broken dam washed over her, claiming the life of one of the few people Logan truly cared about.

But Logan returned to the school, to take his place as one of the teachers, providing help and guidance (okay, maybe not) to the students who live within its wall.

I would like to introduce Logan, the Wolverine of the X-Men, and teacher at Mutant High!
