Colossus
Piotr 'Peter' Rasputin
He's big, he's strong, and he's pretty much invulnerable when using his powers. He’s Peter Rasputin, the Colossus. Originally from Russia, the oldest of the X-Kids has the mutant ability to transform his body into an organic metal. Nearly invulnerable as a result of this, Peter also gains super-human strength, and heightened speed (although you would think that a guy made of metal wouldn’t be able to move that fast. But then again, Logan can move really fast, even with a metal skeleton), making him a force to be reckoned with. |

Although his power is naturally an offensive one, Peter himself is not. In fact, he is quite the opposite. Think of him as a big, soft cuddly teddy bear - who at any moment can transform himself into a lethal weapon. I know, he doesn’t sound that nice, but when you think about it, you can say the same thing about just about any mutant. That’s why humans are so afraid of us - we can turn on them at any moment. |
| But art was not what saved the students the night Colonel Stryker paid the school a little visit. Woken up, like the rest of us, by Theresa's screaming, he investigated, and found himself face to face with some of Stryker's soldiers. They fired at him, but he had transformed into his metal form, and they simply bounced off him. They looked at each other for a moment, and the next thing anyone knew, the soldiers went crashing out through the back of Theresa's bedroom wall. Stepping through the new exit, Peter carried the unconscious Theresa out of the room and into the hallway, where many other students followed him. He led them to one of the exits, opened it, and got the students through. Logan found him there, and Peter offered to help him, but Logan handed him another unconscious student, and ordered Peter to help the students instead. Leading them out of the mansion, down through the underground escape passages, and into the safety of the forests outside the mansion. Peter Rasputin, the Russian Colossus, showed us what he really could do that night, and he saved us all. Thanks, Peter! |
