Dental Health

Having good dental health is certainly important for everyone.  The key to having healthy teeth is to develop good habits early in life.  These habits should include the following:

     1) Properly brushing after every meal (3x per day)

         2) Properly flossing after every meal

       3) Getting a thorough cleaning and check-up by your dentist every 6 months

       4) Limiting the amount of sugars and starches in your diet that may affect your smile.

Of course, these are not the only things one can do for a healthy smile, but I consider these to be the most important.  If children are impressed upon at an early age to get into these habits, it will certainly make for better dental health.  The following could also be addressed when beginning a dental unit.

Types of teeth:  Incisors, Cuspids, Bicuspids, Molars

Functions:  Chewing, Speech, Appearance

Diseases & Disorders:  Cavities, Plaque, Gingivitis, Malocclusion, Abscess, Halitosis
