| WWE Smackdown **SPOILERS** - Taped 6/1/04 | |||||||||
| We start off with a review of the Heyman-Dudley Confrontation last week which led to the Dudley Boyz abducting Paul Bearer. We then get a NEW SMACKDOWN INTRODUCTION and Fireworks. Tonight - Undertaker vs. Booker T - Eddie Guerrero in Action - Summer break out Bikini Contest featuring Sable vs. Dawn Marie vs. Torrie Willson vs. Miss Jackie. Booker T comes out and says he doesnt need to justify himself to Undertaker or to the people. He didnt have anything to do with the abduction of Paul Bearer. Booker thinks that Taker had the Dudley Boyz abduct Bearer himself so that he wouldnt have to show up to face Booker T tonight. Booker says that tonight he will get the job done because he is a 5 time WCW Champion. Nonetheless, John Cena interrupts. Cena, who is wearing a throw back Toronto Blue Jay Rob Butler Jersey is upset that Booker almost cost him the US Title last week. Cena wants a piece of T now. However Booker says he feels bad for Cena because the fans tonight only came to see Booker T and not John. T says he cant see Cena. Infact, Booker T says he made up the entire hand gesture idea. Cena begins to do Booker T imitations, by changing his voice, the way he stands and even doing the Booker T face. He tells Booker that the face is like he just let one go by accident. The two get ready to face off but Kurt Angle with Luthar comes out and tells Cena he wont let him ruin his main event tonight. Angle is actually upset because UPN and the Board of Directors always call Kurt because they dont know what Cena will do next. He tells Cena to just leave the building but Booker T blindsides Cena and the two begin to brawl around the ringside area. Eventually they begin to brawl near Kurt and Cena misses Booker and knocks out Kurt. Booker goes to the back and Luthar throws Cena in the ring. Luthar though is told by Angle to stay back and then Luthar has to restrain Angle from getting in the ring himself. Angle said he warned Cena and now he is going to go to the board of directors and ask for their blessing in stripping John Cena of the United States Championship. We go to break and Cena celebrates in the ring. The Smack of the Night Kurt Angle wont let Eddie Guerrero wrestle without clearance. Non-Title Match Danny Basham w/Doug Basham vs. Eddie Guerrero (c) Big Eddie Chant. They start off with some should blocks and side headlocks. Basham leapfrogs over Eddie, who hits a nice drop kick. Eddie though gets knocked to the outside where Doug Basham tried to get involved. Eddie grabs a chair from ringside and throws it at Doug Basham. As the ref turns around he sees Doug with the chair and throws Doug out of the ringside area. Danny is so upset that he almost gets rolled up, but it is only a 2 count. Basham hits a tilt a whirl on Eddie for 2. Basham hits a snap mare and holds in while Eddie battles out. Eddie battles out of the hold and hits a belly-to-belly suplex. Danny punches Eddie but Guerrero hulks up and flips on Danny. He hits two suplexes on him but Basham blocks the 3rd. Danny throws Eddie into the ref and goes outside to grab the WWE Championship. As he goes to hit Eddie, Eddie kicks Danny low, grabs the belt and hits Danny over the head. Eddie then fakes hurt as the ref gets up until a 7 count. He jumps up and hits the Frog Splash for the victory. The T-Shirt Guy gives out Free T-Shirts We get a shot of outside the Air Canada Center and then a close-up of the CN Tower. This takes us over to Highlights of the Summerslam announcement. Mordecai comes out and begins by mouthing off to Chimmel. He wants everyone to bow their heads and close their eyes as he prays for our sins. Mordecai is unhappy to be in Canada and a city where everyone is spoiled. He says we are all as low as the prostitutes and that is the reason for our corruption. He is upset that father will forgive the people in Toronto, but he wont. He damns Toronto to hell and the Pyro in the ring goes off. The crowd was hot during this segment because of the cheap heat. In the back, Miss Jackie is trying on outfits to wear to the ring. Hass Last Week was Good, Rico This week is better. A promo for Kenzo Suzuki airs, he will be making his TV debut next week on Smackdown. Only problem is the audio cut out in the middle of this segment. Billy Gunn and Hardcore Holly (who came out with Gunns Assman Music) vs. F.B.I. Holly and Stamboli start with side headlocks. Stamboli should blocks Holly but Holly power slams Stamboli. Holly chops Stamboli in the corner. Holly low blows Stamboli. Gunns gets in and attacks Nunzio. Stamboli gets back in fast but he just gets beat down. Holly gets in and hits a gorilla press. Somehow, Stamboli gets the advantage and goes for the pin and Gunn makes the save. The two teams battle back and forth but eventually Gunn hits the famasser on Stambolli. Nunzio tries to escape but Holly catches him in a Powerbomb, while Gunn hits a running neck breaker, combo move for the finish. They setup for the Summer Break Out contest and before it begins WE WANT PUPPIES. Special Announcer Jaime Noble Summer Break Out Bikini Contest Miss Jackie vs. Torrie Willson vs. Dawn Marie vs. Sable Jamie Noble comes out and says that he is the special ring announcer for this event. He knows people arent here to see him so he introduces the girls in the order of Torrie Willson, Miss Jackie, Dawn Marie and Sable. Noble gets to choose what each lady is going to be using as a prop. Torrie is in the sandbox and puts the sand on her (she is in a Skin Tan Bikini). Dawn uses a beach chair that Noble is sitting in and gives him a show (Red Bikini). Sable uses a towel to show off what she has ( a one piece that she wore when she first started off in the late 90s) and Miss Jackie has water which she puts all over herself (tie die two piece). Miss Jackie wound up winning. She also did have the lowdest pop, followed by Torrie, Dawn and Sable. Since Jackie won, she gets to kiss Noble. She tells Jaime to close his eyes, and then all the girls soak him. They kick him into the sandbox and continue to poor water and beat on poor Noble. We then get a Taker vs. Booker Promo. We then again see footage of the Dudley-Heyman confrontation and the Dudley Boyz abducting Paul Bearer. We get a promo for the Hall of Fame DVD. WWE Cruiserweight Championship Chavo Guerrero Classic (Sr) w/ Chavo Guerrero (Jr) vs. Funaki When Funaki comes out his music is messed up. Classic comes out with some new wardrobe. Guerrero Jr is doing commentary. Lots of headlocks to start and Funaki gets some armbars on Classic. Classic hits a tilt a whirl on Funaki and then hits a bulldog with a roll through in the corner. Classic gloats and Funaki knocks him down in the back to the outside. Funaki puts Classic back in the ring but misses a drop kick when Classic holds onto the ropes. Funaki though battles back and eventually goes up to the top rope. Guerrero Jr comes out and pushes Funaki off the top so Classic can get the pinfall and retain. Some girls jump the barrier and begin to smother Classic while Jr. claps over at the announce booth. We get a WWE Experience Promo Followed by the Raw Rebound (Pop for La Resistance in my section) In the back, Chavos are celebrating and when Jr leaves Classic, Classic goes and begins to give the ladies money. When Jr. returns he confronts his dad who says that he just wants to look like a big man in front of his son and make him proud. Chavo Jr. says he is proud of his father because he is a Guerrero. Rene Dupree w/ Fifi vs. Rey Misterio Dupree starts by trying to sucker punch Misterio but Rey is just to fast and he goes on the offense. He goes for the 10 punch but Dupree pushes him off and hits some power moves. Rey gets dropped hard and Dupree only gets a 2 count. Dupree suplexs Misterio and gets a 2 . Dupree closelines Rey and puts him on the top turnbuckle. Rey hits some elboys and Dupree falls down. Once he gets up, Rey hits the Bronco Buster in the air. Rey hits some hurricannrans for 2 counts. Misterio dances like Dupree, throws him into the ropes where he falls down and Rey goes for the 619. Rene meets him on the way and he gets closelinses. Dupree picks up Rey and goes for a Powerbomb but Rey is able to roll Through and get a 3 Count. At this point they were at a commercial break when right behind me Rico was in the rafters (I was in the nosebleeds). Rico says how much he loves Canada and Toronto and a big Rico chant gets going. We get a promo for the Great American Bash saying it is a NEW American Tradition. Toronto really booed the PPV. They show some highlights of the Cena/Booker confrontation from earlier including Angle saying that he wants to strip Cena of the US Title. John Bradshaw Layfield comes out in his limo and begins making anti-Canadian comments about how since he is American we have to pay him respect, because the Americans protect Canada (which is true, but still). He reminds the fans about how he beat Eddie at Judgemnet day and Eddie is scared of him so he had to DQ himself. Orignally, this was all about business but now it is personal. Therefore, Bradswa is going to have a Texas Bullrope Match at the Great American Bash for the WWE Title. At this point he began to get the What Chants so he goes off on Canada again saying how we are stupid but even us Canadians will understand the concept of the match. You are tied to your opponent and then the first to get to all 4 corners wins. There was a lot of cheap heat for JBL here. The Subway Moment Last Week the Undertaker sent down some lighting to the ring. Promo for Hell in a Cell, something to be seen in 2 weeks at Bad Blood. Another replay of the Dudley Boyz taking away Paul Bearer. Booker T vs. The Undertaker. Booker comes out followed by Taker with his old school introduction. As Taker goes and takes off his hat he gets blindsided by Booker. However Taker quickly gets the advantage back and hits some elbows and legdrops for 2 counts. Booker battles back but immediately gets squashed back down by Undertaker. Taker goes old school but Booker prevents it from happening. Booker goes into the rope but gets a big boot and Hogan leg drop for a 2 count. UT goes to work on the arm, with several arm related extention moves. While doing this, he scares off the ref who actually left the ring briefly. Finally Taker goes old school but surprisingly, Booker throws him off of the top rope to the floor! Booker puts Taker into the stairs and then back into the ring. Booker hits the missle drop kick from the top but only getse a 2 count. Booker hits the armbar-superkick combo for a 2 . He puts a chinlock on Taker but he is able to battle out. Taker runs to the ropes and gets hit with a Harlem Sidekick which only get sa 2. Taker again battles back and as Booker goes for a suplex Taker reverses it. Taker hits an avalanche in the corner. Taker goes for the last ride but Booker jimps out of it so Undertaker turns around and hits a chokeslam instead. Undertaker signals for the Tombstone but Paul Heyman comes out. He says that Taker should be more worried about others not in the ring such as Paul Bearer. Heyman gets in the ring and Taker begins to attack but the Dudley Boyz, with D-Von holding the urn tell Taker to listen to what Heyman has to say or he wont see Paul Bearer again. Heyman tells Taker it is simple, either join Heyman and the Dudley Boyz or never see Paul Bearer. He then tells Taker its funny that for the last 10 years Taker has had Paul by the throat but finally Paul has Taker. This is where the taping will probably end. John Bradshaw Layfield comes back out and tells Taker he should join up with him instead because Paul Bearer is so fat no one would be able to find him. He tries to convince Taker, saying they are both from Texas and they both should be mad at Eddie Guerrero. Guerrero is from Mexico South and right now they are both stuck in Mexico North. Bradshaw does a bit where he says he isnt afraid of Taker, but maybe he is a little, but he isnt a coward like Canadians so he isnt. After a few minutes of this Bradshaw says he is about to take on the Undertaker but then says he changed his mind. He then sucker punches the Undertaker. The Dudley Boyz and Rene Dupree come out and they quadruple team on the Undertaker. Cena comes out and hits the FU on Dupree but JBL takes out Cena. Then Guerrero comes out and he runs off JBL which leaves Taker chokeslamming both Dudley Boyz. Booker T tries to sneak back into the ring, after recuping from the chokeslam he received but Eddie cuts him off. He throws T to Taker and leaves after JBL but Booker is able to hit the scissors kick on the Undertaker. Booker did the spinerooni but Taker sat up, and hit a chokeslam. Undertaker celebrated with his old retro music and poses and that was a rap. No RVD on this show. It was ok, I was entertained but I am happy I didnt go and get good seats for the show.
