SmackDown! Report

Thanks to 411mania.com for the following:

Show starts with clips of last weeks presentation of the (useless) Great American Award to Bradshaw after he cheat his way to it with video of himself being a Great American. With that, our nightmares have come true as Bradshaw is now the #1 contender to the WWE Title. Shudder.

Credits roll. The Rock and Kurt Angle in full wrestling gear are still featured. Pyro from Indianapolis, IN and TONIGHT: Booker T vs. Rob Van Dam. That Im looking forward to.

But first, WWE Champion Eddie Gurrero is out in a blue lowrider with matching fur interior. Nice touch. Eddie says that Angle has been ringing his phone off the hook demanding an apology for ruining the Great American Award and provides a decent impersonation of Angle to boot. He has no problems with apologizing, but he does have a problem with Bradshaw for rubbing his wealth in everyones face. Eddie is in the process of calling out Bradshaw when a (for lack of a better term) campaign ad runs for Bradshaw as WWE Champion. Afterward, Eddie says that he works for a living and that he didnt get his first shot by having it handed to him. Eddie calls for the match with Bradshaw to happen tonight (the sooner we get the travesty over with, the better). Instead, GM Kurt Angle is out to lambaste Eddie for ruining everything and not apologizing. Despite that, Angle grants the match and this cues Bradshaw to arrive in the Longhorn Limousine. Bradshaw says that hed love to take Eddie on tonight but hes tired from all the campaigning hes done this week. So Bradshaw has a better idea and whispers it to Kurt and Kurt agrees Bradshaw will NOT face Eddie tonight, but rather the two will go at it on PPV at Judgment Day. I can hardly wait. Angle tells Eddie that hell se action tonight against the Big Show. That might get ugly as we go to:

Commercial.

Back to In The Back, Show walks in on Bradshaw and Cena. Show wants the match tonight to be for the WWE Title and Kurt George Bushs his way to telling him no. Show sees that that hes being used, but still gives his word that if he doesnt beat Eddie tonight, that hell quit. Ummwhy?

US Champion John Cena vs. WWE Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Gurrero (with Chavo Sr) Champion vs. Champion, non-title match
Cena cuts a promo rap re: Indianapolis, white chocolate, and an interruption by the entrance of the Chavos denies the rest. Doh! No nuts!
Collar-and-elbow tie-up to the corner and both men trade shots and chops. Chavito with the hammerlock and Cena reverses. Off the ropes, Chavito gets hiptossed and clotheslined. Cena off the ropes now and he takes a knee to the gut by Chavito before sending Cena outside. Sr takes the chance to paste Cena with a boot to the back of the head, enabling Chavito to get a 2-count back in the ring. Chavito gets on the camel clutch (!), but Cena stands out of it and rams Chavito into the turnbuckle. Chavito gets Cena with a dropkick for 2 nonetheless before handing out the beatdown in the corner but the corner-whip-and-charge eats boot. Cena gets a clothesline and then breaks out the all-new FIVE MOVES OF DOOM (Regular Brad McLeod gets credit for that) the kick to the gut, Throwback, Pump Up, 5 Knuckle Shuffle, and the FU for the victory. Not bad.

Cole and Tazz pimp Booker and RVD with some video before we go to:

Commercial.

Back to a vignette of Rene Dupree romancing...FiFi. Dupree reveals that, next week, we get to see the premiere of Caf De Rene and that his first guest will be Torrie Wilson, whom he thinks FiFi is prettier than. Whatever shoots your pooter, pal...

Cole and Tazz show video from last October of Show mutilating Eddie for some more pimping of tonights events.

In The Back, Noble tries to warn Charlie Haas about Ricos...um...antics before his match, but to no avail. Nunzio walks by and slaps Haass ass for luck just to drive the point home before we go to:

Commercial.

Back to
Charlie Haas vs. Rico (with Miss Jackie and runway)
Wow, am I glad to see Jackie back in those outfits of hers. Collar-and-elbow tie-up to start and both men go to the corner where Rico breaks and checks out Haas. Haas is freaked enough to take Rico down and club him some. Haas gets the front facelock on the mat before Rico reverses and grabs Haass ass, then rides him like a horsey. You should have expected this. Haas back with a kick to the gut and a choke on the ropes. Rico gets a sunset flip attempt and yanks Haass tights down. New moon over Indianapolis~! Haas retaliates with a corner beatdown and more choking before really laying it in with a beel throw, some crossface shots and a face plant. Rico reverses a suplex attempt and grabs Haass ass again before kissing the man in the ring! Haas bails and takes the countout loss as Rico shows off his thing. Haas pukes on the outside, making me wonder how people could call Eugene offensive, but not this. Granted, the only offensive thing this match was negative entertainment value, but nonetheless...

In The Back, Bradshaw thanks Show before Show tells him hes beating down Eddie for no one but himself before we go to:

Commercial.

In one of the more stranger moments of the night, a promo was aired regarding a man named Mordecai. He wears a white robe, all of his hair is white, and he says he is working for the father. His logo is a variation of the Christian cross. Mordecai declaring that the Time of Reckoning is upon us.

Big Show vs. WWE Champion Eddie Gurrero non-title, retirement (?) match

Show jumps Eddie with clubs to start and chops Eddie down before a headbutt. Show gets in a huge bodyslam and Eddie valiantly fires back only to get whipped into the corner. Show chokes Eddie high and throws Eddie down and Eddie is back up to kick away at Shows legs. Show answers with another headbutt and gets 2. Corner-whip-and-charge misses and Eddie goes up but Show catches him and drives him into the turnbuckle. Show with huge corner chops before just plain standing on the back of the champs head. Owch. Show wrenches Edies arm, taking him to one knee and Show keeps picking him up by one arm and slamming him down before getting 2 again. Eddie escapes by pulling out Shows chest hair (!) but gets caught again. Show with the clothesline but Eddie ducks and Show goes up and over. Eddie dives at Show but gets caught, managing to escape by shoving Show to the post before we go to:

Commercial.

Back to Eddie in control, kicking the snot out of Show. Show answers with more choking and the armwringer. Show elbows Eddies arm before ramming the bad wheel into the turnbuckle. Headbutt to the shoulder by Show before stomping Eddie down. Eddie fires back with one arm but Show wraps the bad arm around the top rope. Eddie tries the sunset flip (our ill-advised Move Of The Night) but Show jacks him up for the bearhug. Eddie boxes his ears to escape (havent seen that in a while) but Show boots him in the side of the head. Shoulder shots by Show and Eddie is back up with a set of dropkicks and clotheslines but Show drills Eddie with one of his own. Another headbutt sends Eddie outside where Gurrero grabs a wrench. Eddie slips the wrench in Shows boot, which causes an argument with the referee. Eddie uses the time to recover and open fire on Show with dropkicks and a tornado DDT. Cover and Show powers out at 2, tossing Eddie onto referee Brian Hebner. Show goes for the Chokeslam but Eddie low blows Show behind the refs back and DDTs him again before getting the win with the Frog Splash. Not a bad match at all, but another quitting angle? Guess they found a way for Show to go and heal up some. Eddie rubs it in by getting the crowd to sing Na na na na, goodbye and Show plays it well, looking to be almost in tears. The serenade continues as Show leaves the ring, dejected.

More video of RVD and Booker T featuring both mens first night on SmackDown before we go to:

Commercial.

Back to Replay of Show losing and having to quit as a result.

In The Back, Show is leaving when he hears...laughter. Torrie Wilson and the makeup girl are cutting up about something and Show takes that as him being the one they're laughed at. Show threatens her before she begs off and explains that she wasnt laughing at him, causing Show to leave and Torrie to relieve herself in her warm up pants and undies.

Teddy Long is out to unveil The Narcissist 2.0! Mark Jindrak looks in the mirror as Teddy Long declares him the reflection of perfection before Spike Dudley interrupts, ready to get the squash underway...

Mark Jindrak vs. Spike Dudley

Jindrak with a knee to the fact to start but Spike fires back. Spike goes up top and Jindrak dropkicks him off (!!) to the outside. Jindrak sends Spike back in for 2. Spike gets stomped on before Jindrak gets the Davey Boy Smith Memorial Delayed Suplex with one arm. Spike fires back again and goes for the Acid Drop before Jindrak finishes with his as-yet-un-named finisher for 3.

More video of Booker and RVD, this one featuring Bookers betrayal, before we see the Tale Of The Tape that takes us to:

Commercial.

Back to Torrie Wilson leaving the arena (why was she there again?) but Show stops her and accuses her again of laughing at him. Hes not hearing her excuses this time and puts out her car windows before breaking down in tears. Torrie goes to comfort him before Show flips out again and puts out her back window. Wow, this is like watching Kane get unmasked all over again. Show says he has to quit because he lost, and since hes a man of his word he will, but he cant take people like Torrie laughing at him. As a result, Show overturns Torries car and chases her away, taking us to:

Commercial.

Back to Cole and Tazz in shock SHOCK!, I say over Big Shows actions backstage before a Replay of the incident.

Booker T vs. Rob Van Dam

At least theyre back to using Bookers old music. RVD starts out with fists and feet before stomping Booker down in the corner and getting a running dropkick to the face. More kicks, including one off the top, before RVD gets 2. Booker gets sent outside by shots to the head and RVD takes the fight outside, ultimately hitting the guillotine legdrop off the apron. RVD slips back in the ring and takes us to:

Commercial.

Back to Booker T reversing the Irish whip and catching RVD in a hot shot off the top rope. Booker takes over with a neckbreaker and a cover for 2. Right hand on RVD and a back elbow off the ropes setting up a kneedrop for Booker and a cover for 2 again. RVD fights out of a chinlock only to run into an axe kick by Booker and more kicks to the head and ribs. RVD dodges the scissors kick, however, and escapes the Bookend with, you guessed it, a kick. RVD punches away but Booker knees him in retaliation. RVD responds with a thrust kick and a 2-count. Booker whips RVD to the corner but RVD hops up and gets the split-legged moonsault for 2. Rolling Thunder follows and gets 2 for RVD. RVD now with the German suplex and goes up for the Five Star Frog Splash but Booker moves and RVD eats mat. Booker ties RVD into the ropes and starts pounding away at him, ignoring the referees count and getting himself disqualified. Umm, why? Booker keeps pounding RVD down and kicks him in the side of the head, sending RVD outside the ring with a blood nose. Booker treats us to the Spinneroonie before leaving.

In The Back, a PA tells Kurt that Big Show has Torrie trapped on a ledge. Elsewhere In The Back, Show has Torrie by the hair and promises to throw her 15-20 feet down. Kurt arrives and tried to talk Show down and climbs up to where they are. Show terrorizes Torrie some more before Kurt arrives. Show lets Torrie go and grabs Kurt instead, tossing him to the concrete below. Show ends with Kurt on the concrete, blood behind his head and a leg bent back.
