WWE Smackdown Results For 4/10/03 (Taped 4/8/03)
Brock Lesnar defeated Matt Hardy in a Champion vs. Champion Match. The match was non-title for both contenders, just a champion vs. champion match like Hardy challenged Lesnar to last week. Hardy was able to hit some of his trademark moves and stayed on the offensive for a little while but Lesnar rebounded to hit the F5 for the win.

After the break, the recently returned Sable came out and sat at ringside to wtahc the next match.

Brian Kendrick & Torrie Wilson defeated Jamie Noble & Nidia in a mixed tag match. Kendirck and Noble did most of the work, with Noble in control for a good portion of the match. Kendrick came back with some innovative offense which lead to the inevitable brawling between Torrie and Nidia. Noble held back Torrie for a crossbody from Nidia but Torrie dodged it and Nidia took down Noble which led to the win for Kendrick and Wilson. Afterwards, Sable seemed impressed with Torrie's efforts.

Backstage, Chris Benoit approached Brock Lesnar and congratulated him on his title win at WrestleMania but said he was looking forward to seeing him at Backlash. Rhyno then intervened and said that Benoit had to get through him first. Lesnar told the two to go beat the hell out of each other and said whoever he meets at Backlash will have hell to pay.

Chris Benoit defeated Rhyno in the semi-final of the #1 Contender's Tournament.
Pretty good match, I think these two could work a goor program, lot of good wrestling. Rhyno had the advantage but missed a gore which led to Benoit going for the Crossface, however, Rhyno made it to the ropes to break the hold. The two then reversed and countered each other and Benoit ended up winning with a backslide. Afterwards, the two shook hands and Rhyno congratulated Benoit.

Piper Classic Moment: Roddy Piper was shown with Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka back in '86 when Piper clocked Snuka with a coconut.

Vince McMahon then entered the ring just after the plaid carpet was rolled out in the ring for the returning Piper's Pit. McMahon said he had terminated Hulkamania and put it back on the shelf. He said tonight, he was taking something off the shelf that he also created a long time ago. Vince then introduced Rowdy Roddy Piper to host the Piper's Pit for the first time in over 14 years. Piper made his way out and Vince then introduced himself as Piper's special guest. The two took turns insulting each other, Vince picking on Piper's weight gain and Piper pointing out Vince's failed projects such as the bodybuilding federation and the XFL. Vince then said that at least the two had something in common, they both hate Hulkamania. Piper agreed and said he hated Hogan but then turned to Vince and said he hated him too. As Vince was leaving, Piper said that Vince did something that even Piper could never have done in his career, and that was lose to Hulk Hogan, 1-2-3. Vince left and then Rikishi came out brandishing a coconut. Rikishi said he'd been waiting a long time to get revenge on Piper for smashing a coconut on Jimmy Snuka's head, who is a relative of Rikishi's. Sean O'Haire ran in out of nowhere and drilled Rikishi with a wicked clothesline. O'Haire then cracked Rikishi a couple times with one of those director's chairs that were in the ring for the segment. Piper then took the coconut and asked Rikishi if he wanted to be like Snuka and smashed it into his head. Piper and O'Haire then left together.

The promo for Slyvain Grenier and Rene Dupree was shown, same one from Raw.

Tajiri & Rey Mysterio defeated Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin in a non-title match.
Before the match, Haas and Benjamin dedicated the match to Kurt Angle who is set to have neck surgery tomorrow. Tajiri then came out, followed out by his new partner, Mysterio. Cole and Tazz said Funaki was injured after getting put in the Haas of Pain by Haas last week. Very good match here with plenty of high flying innovative stuff we've all come to expect from Mysterio as well as some great double team work from Team Angle. In the end, Tajiri disposed of Benjamin while Mysterio took care of Haas and hit a big springboard legdrop for the win.

Backstage, Josh Mathews was with the Undertaker who said that getting beat up in the ring was part of the job, but when he comes backstage, he expects to be respected. Taker said that John Cena needs to stop writing checks his ass can't cash and promised to bust him up tonight.

Nathan Jones defeated Bill DeMott. Quick debut match here for Jones who wins it after a big boot to the face.

Backstage, the FBI were talking to a couple of cops. Nunzio, Palumbo and Stamboli said that some of their things were missing, including $1,200 from Nunzio's bag. The cops asked if they had any idea who might've done it and the FBI started thinking and said they had a good idea.

Meanwhile, Sable entered Torrie's locker room as she was in the shower. Sable mentioned that she was proud of Torrie's performance in her match tonight and said that her Playboy was selling almost as well as hers. Torrie got out of the shower and asked Sable where her towel was. Sable held the towel and told Torrie to come and get it.

After the break, the cops approached Nathan Jones and said they wanted to take him in for some questioning. Undertaker entered the picture and said that the cops were just pointing the finger at Jones because he had done time. The cops said that Jones wasn't under arrest, he was just being accused and they need to ask him some questions. The cops then escorted Jones away.

John Cena defeated The Undertaker in the semi-final of the #1 Contender's Tournamnet.
Taker controlled the match right from the get go and seemed to have things locked up after he nailed a chokeslam. Later in the match though, Cena took control when he cheapshoted Taker with a chained-up fist. Cena then went to work on Taker's injured elbow which Tazz and Cold said Taker had postponed surgery for. Cena took Taker outside and worked over the elbow more and then jumped back in the ring and told the ref to start the count out. Taker eventually made it back inside and regained control of the match. The ref took a bump when Cena pulled him in front of a charging Taker. Cena went for the Death Valley Driver but Taker countered and hit the Last Ride. The FBI then hit the ring and each one of them attacked black ninja style which let Taker take care of them rather easily. Palumbo then came in and nailed Taker with a chair to the head. Nunzio followed up with a chairshot to the back and then the FBI left. Cena then crawled over and made the pin for the win. Next week, Benoit vs. Cena in the #1 Contender's Tournament Finals.
