SmackDown! Report

Smackdown! opened up with a video package from last Monday night and the draft lottery. It shows Heyman drafting Rene Dupree, Mark Jindrak, Rob Van Dam, Theodore Long and Spike Dudley. John Cena then came out and made the next pick and it was none other than Triple H, and Triple H was none too pleased about that. Eric Bischoff then went to complain to Vince McMahon about that pick not being official, but Vince said it still stood. Eric Bischoff then made his last pick of the night and it was Smackdown! General Manager, Paul Heyman! Paul Heyman then walked out and quit. The fireworks went off in the arena for the start of WWE Smackdown! as Michael Cole and Tazz welcomed us to this weeks show!

Kurt Angle made his way out to the arena and he is the new General Manager of Smackdown! after Paul Heyman quit last Monday night. Angle says that he is putting his wrestling career on hold to become General Manager, and he says he did it for all of the Smackdown! fans. He says he can make a difference and fight for what he believes in and unlike Heyman, he will not back down to anyone. He says he will not be physically intimidated by anyone and said when Triple H came up to him tonight and demanded a rematch for the WWE Championship with Eddie Guerrero, Angle looked into his eyes and said no. Triple H will not be facing Eddie Guerrero for the Title tonight, in fact he will not be on Smackdown! period. Angle says that as his first act as General Manager, he traded Triple H back to RAW which was met by boos. Angle said that he is not in this for the popularity, he is here to take Smackdown! to new heights and he believes his trades will do just that. He says that his first acquisition are one of the best tag teams in the business and D-Von and Bubba Ray Dudley have been traded to Smackdown!, but they are not the only superstars traded to Smackdown! for Triple H. This next man will be one of the most dominant superstars that Smackdown! have ever seen as the music of Booker T hit in the arena and he made his way to the ring, and he did not look happy about the fact that he had been traded to Smackdown! Booker T shook hands with Kurt Angle as the fans cheered and then Booker took the mic. Booker said that he wished he could be excited to be here, but the fact is that he's not. In the last two hours his life has been turned upside down and he had nothing to do with it, and he don't like it. But what he did like was wrestling RAW, and no disrespect to the fans of Smackdown! but the RAW fans appreciated Booker T and everything he did, and no disrespect to Kurt Angle but Smackdown! is the minor leagues. Booker goes onto say that the superstars backstage have great futures but hes better than every one of them. He's better than Eddie Guerrero, he's hotter than John Cena, he's bigger than the Big Show and he's better than the Undertaker and the fact is that Booker T didn't want to be here. Kurt Angle took the mic, and agreed with Booker that he is a bigger superstar than all the guys on Smackdown! and that one weakness that the Smackdown! show has is that the fans of Smackdown! do not appreciate great talents and great athletes. He told Booker to stick to his guns and that he will like it here, and asked the fans to show appreciation for Booker T who was met by a chorus of boos.

Up Next: New draft pick, Rob Van Dam, will make his debut on Smackdown! against Charlie Haas!

Vignette: A video package of the recent WrestleMania Revenge Tour of the United Kingdom was shown.

RVD was whipped to the ropes and came back with a spin kick to knock Charlie Haas down and then hit some more kicks to Charlie Haas. Charlie Haas then gained control and went to work on RVD in the corner and then slammed him down. RVD fought back and hit a series of arm drag takedowns and then locked in an arm bar on Charlie Haas, but Haas escaped and whipped RVD to the buckle, but RVD jumped to the top rope but Haas shoved him off to the outside of the ring into the barrier. Charlie Haas then rolled RVD back into the ring and got a two count.

Haas started to work over the leg of RVD and hooked his leg on the ropes and Haas went to work on the knee of RVD. Charlie Haas then locked in a modified half Boston crab on Rob Van Dam, and you can see the agony in the eyes of RVD. Rob Van Dam escaped with some kicks to Charlie Haas but Haas continued to beat down RVD but then went for an enziguri but bounced back with a kick to the chin of Charlie Haas. RVD hit some right hands on Haas and then sent him head first into the turnbuckle and knocked him down the mat and then hit the revolving leg drop and rolling thunder on Charlie Haas for a two count.

Rob Van Dam went for a rolling monkey flip on Charlie Haas in the corner, but Haas blocked and then went for a pin with his feet on the ropes for two. RVD went for a shoulder thrust in the corner but was met by the knee of Charlie Haas, Haas then removed the turnbuckle cover, but RVD rolled Charlie Haas up for the three count. Winner - Rob Van Dam

Up Next: Footage is shown from RAW with Paul Heyman picking Rene Dupree as his first draft and up next, Rene Dupree will make his debut on Smackdown!

Last Monday Night: Footage was shown of the big brawl between the two brands which sent RAW off the air, and Tazz and Michael Cole said that the superstars did Smackdown! proud.

Billy Kidman vs. Rene Dupree
The music of Billy Kidman hit in the arena as he made his way to the ring and he will be facing new Smackdown! Superstar, Rene Dupree! Dupree made his way down waving the French flag and brought the poodle, Fifi, to ringside with him.

Dupree and Kidman locked up and Dupree shoved Kidman away and showed his arrogance. The two locked up again and Dupree sent Kidman to the ropes and went for a hip toss, but Kidman blocked and hit a headscissors take down on Rene Dupree.

With Kidman down on the mat, Dupree stomped on him and then picked him up and whipped him to the turnbuckle with authority. Kidman began to fight back and ran at Dupree, but Dupree took him down with a back body drop. Dupree then did the "French Tickle", which is that dance that he likes to do and then locked in a bear hug on Billy Kidman. Kidman was sent to buckle and Dupree ran at him but was met by a boot to the face and Kidman went to the top rope and came off with a flying elbow to knock Dupree down for a two count.

Rene Dupree ran at Kidman but Kidman knocked Rene down with a dropkick and then went to the top rope for the Shooting Star Press, but Dupree got up and knocked Kidman down with a dropkick. Dupree then hit a modified sit out powerbomb to get the victory over Billy Kidman!
Winner - Rene Dupree

The music of John Cena hit in the arena and he made his way to the ring as the United States Champion and he took the mic. Cena welcomed everyone to Smackdown! and said this is where the franchise play. That's Tazz he's a thug and thats Michael Cole...he's gay. He tells Dupree not to leave his wallet near Eddie Guerrero and not to go near a bathroom after the Big Show or Rikishi. He tells Dupree that his chain aint for yankin and not to touch his Magic Johnson. He would introduce him to the fans but its obvious they want none of Dupree, it's because they know France sucks so lets throw up the W. It's time for you to leave so don't let the door hit you in the ass, there's one thing you can do, choke on deez nuts! Cena then left to the ring and Dupree was none to happy about the greeting he has gotten on Smackdown!

Last Thursday: Footage was shown of last weeks edition of Smackdown! when the Undertaker made his way out to the ring and gave Paul Heyman the Tombstone.

Josh Mathews is backstage with Rikishi and Scotty Too Hotty and asks what they feel about Paul Heyman leaving. Theodore Long interrupted and said he was looking for one great man, and even better, one great team. He said they were good but they ain't great yet. he gave Rikishi and Scotty his card and left.

Eddie Guerrero is backstage in the locker room and greets the talents. He then greets and hugs Rob Van Dam and welcomes Spike Dudley to Smackdown! He then gets to Booker T and said that he loves the spinaroonie, but Booker didn't look too happy. He told Booker to chill out and that Smackdown! is like family. Booker said he don't want anybody to watch his back and he liked it on RAW and that drove him to be the best champion he could be, but Eddie wouldn't know anything about that. Booker called Eddie the champion of the minor leagues and Eddie said he didn't hear that. He didn't insult every man who held that title did he? He didn't insult the fan did he? Booker then spat on the floor and told Eddie to consider himself insulted, sucka. Eddie then charged at Booker T and the rest of the locker room had to part the two men!

The Dudley Boyz vs. The Basham Brothers
The music of Bubba Ray and D-Von, the Dudley Boyz, hit in the arena as they are set to make their first Smackdown! appearance since being drafted and they will be going up against Danny and Doug, the Basham Brothers!

The two teams went at it to start the match and Bubba Ray tossed Doug Basham out of the ring and Bubba and Danny Basham will be starting the match out. The two men locked up and Bubba takes control and backs Danny to the corner and then makes the tag to D-Von and D-Von sends Danny to the buckle and then goes to work on him in the corner. Danny then raked the eyes of D-Von and made the tag to Doug.

Doug Basham whipped D-Von to the ropes, but D-Von came back with a twisting elbow for a two count and then tagged in Bubba Ray who hit a neck breaker for two. Bubba then began driving his forearms into the face of Doug and then tagged D-Von back in and the two hit a double team flapjack on Doug Basham. Doug and Danny then switched without the referee seeing and then Danny hit a backdrop on D-Von and then stomped him on the mat and tagged in Doug.

Doug Basham locked in an abdominal stretch on D-Von and grabbed the hand of Danny on the apron for more leverage. Doug then tagged in Danny and delivered an elbow to the sternum for a two count and tagged Doug back in. D-Von whipped Doug to the ropes and hit a shoulder takedown to the gut and made the tag to Bubba Ray who went to work on both Basham's and hit a big back body drop on Doug and then hit the Bubba Cutter for two. Bubba whipped Doug Basham across the ring and hit a splash in the corner and then a sidewalk slam for two, because Danny made the save.

The Basham Brothers then double teamed Bubba and went for a double back body drop but Bubba kicked Doug in the head and sent him outside. Bubba got the advantaged over Danny Basham and then D-Von went upstairs and hit a headbutt to the groin of Danny Basham. The Dudley Boyz then hit the Dudley Death Drop to pick up the victory over the Basham Brothers!

Last Week on Smackdown!: Tazz and Michael Cole talk about the disgusting actions of Bradshaw as he turned his back on Faarooq when Faarooq was fired from Smackdown, but Bradshaw decided to stick around.

In The Arena: Some Texas type music played in the arena and Bradshaw made his way out in a white cowboy hat and suit and was announced as "John Leyfield Bradshaw". He took the mic and said he was going to explain what happened last week and he feels he was horribly misunderstood as the crowd booed him. He said he did the right thing and said Ron Simmons was his best friend and they drank more beer and have been up more roads than anyone. He said when Heyman quit that this was his chance to get Ron Simmon's his job back but he said he was not going to do that, and again the crowd booed. He said he has a lot more than wrestling going on, he said he appreciated years and years of friendship but he said he has a portfolio that has beaten the stock market in seven out of seven years. He said he has a best selling book, he said he is about to get a radio show, he said he works for Fox News and Fox News loves Bradshaw, and he cannot walk away from that. He tells the people that they would have done the exact thing if they were in his position and they should stop listening to their Sunday School fairytales. People like Bradshaw are people that run businesses, people like him run industries, people like him run governments. He told the crowd to stop their "you sold out" chants right now. He says he has always been better and always been smarter than people around him. He says his picture hangs in his high school and college and that people should never let their dreams be scared of failure. He said he has only succeeded in one thing and that is wrestling, and thats fine but it hasn't got him jack. He said things are going to change around here and to get ready for the impact that is coming. Business is about to pick up.

Up Next: Up Next on Smackdown!, the WWE Championship will be decided as Eddie Guerrero places his title on the line against the newest addition to the Smackdown! roster, Booker T!
