| WWE RAW Results - 10/27/03 - Rob Van Dam vs Chris Jericho | |||||||||
| Raw is live tonight from the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Raw starts with a video package from last week. Package includes HHH's guarantee, Batista's return, and more! A cage hovers above the ring, JR and King are clueless. Why is the cage here tonight? Evolution hits the ring without HHH, but Batista is back for good. Flair getting the big time pops in his home town and he asks the fans if they want to see Goldberg tonight, he says Goldberg will not show. Flair having a heart attack as usual as he hypes Batistas attack. Batista on the mic, he talks? Weird. Batista says Goldberg should talk the beating as a honor since HHH was impressed with him. He says he's that much better than Goldberg. Batista then admits to the attack on Goldberg in the previous weeks (crates falling in the back, cars, etc.) Orton on the mic, he says who does the title go to since Goldberg got taken out? He says it should go back to HHH, then Bischoff's music hits and he heads to the ring looking like he's in a bad mood. Bischoff acts as if he's mad as usual and then turns himself around complementing Evolution and Batista. "Screw Bill Goldberg and screw all of you!" Bischoff has the belt in hand. He's talking smack to Goldberg, tells him he knows he's watching, and to look very very closely. Bischoff begins to present the title to Triple H when Austin comes to save the day! Austin tell Bischoff he forgot something in the bag, so he reaches in and says "up, there, I got it." And he pulls out a middle finger! Austin says Goldberg is coming back and he doesn't care about any injuries. He says he booked a match for Survivor Series featuring Goldberg versus HHH!!! Flair flips out. Austin tells him to settle down before he blows his pacemaker! Before Austin can get up the ramp, Batista chases him and calls for the music to cut. Batista tells Austin he must be looking to be provoked, and that like his buddy Goldberg says, he's next! Stare down between the two when Jindrak and Cade hit the ring and attack Evolution. Macho Man commercial at the break; wheee! Trish is on the phone in the back in the Women's locker-room, Lita comes in and both are in bras (exclusive pics below). Lita asked if Jericho was on the phone, Trish says yes, Lita tells them she thinks y2J and Christian were onto something. Booker T vs. Rico Rico jumps Booker in the ring and gets him in an early headlock. Booker fights back with some clotheslines. Back and forth fight, Booker T hits a few kicks and goes for the axe kick but Rico ducks out, more reversals and Booker nails the axe kick for the quick pin! Winner: Booker T Booker was about to spin-a-roonie and y2J cuts it short! He says he is going to do an impromptu highlight reel with Booker as the guest. Jericho mocks Booker T for being a member of Austin's team. He calls out Team Bischoff and Steiner and Christian come out. Jericho asks for the cage to be lowered! Just before the cage gets down RVD comes and saves Booker from a beating and announces that he is the new member of Steve Austin's team! WWE rewind: Mark Henry's attack on Goldberg! Y2J and Bischoff in the back talking about the plan. Easy E grants Jericho an IC Title match tonight against RVD! - Teddy Long hits the ring saying Mark Henry is real angry! He said that cracka snake Austin cost them the money! Henry wants to take his anger out on any Stone Cold lovin white boy! Lance Storm's music hits and I think we have a match! Lance Storm vs. Mark Henry Henry jumps on Storm early and clubs him around and then slams him to the mat. Storm responds with a few rights and lefts, he springboards in the corner and misses a huge missile dropkick. Henry tosses Storm out of the ring. The crowd starts cheering as it seems someone is headed to the ring.. it's HBK! Superkick to Henry, who gets the win via DQ! Winner: Mark Henry -DQ- The guy who has been talking to Austin lately (John Heidrenich) is shown backstage and man he is ripped. Hurricane comes by and the John tells him he and the Hurricane will team tonight in his first Raw match! Hurricane says his son Little Johhny must be so proud. John tells the hurricane little Johhny is not his son. Then he whispers into Hurricane's ear who Little Johhny is while reporter Rosie takes a photo for the Globe! Backstage, Lita confronts Christian and asks him if he was just trying to one-up Jericho. Christian flips open Lita's book and shows a picture of them together. Lita says that he may have the wrong idea. Backstage, Coach meets up with Shane McMahon and asks him if he knows who the mystery referee will be in his match. Coach says he better hope it's not Kane. Hurricane & John Heidrenich vs. La Resistance Hurricane looking to give his mask to someone, Rob nails him from behind to get the early advantage. Hurricane fires back, the two tangle and Hurricane hits and inverted neck drop. Hurricane ducks a clotheslines and suicide planchas over the top onto Dupree! To the top goes the Kane, foot held by Dupree allowing Rob to get a nasty swinging neckbreaker. Two count on Hurricane who is then double teamed in the corner. Hurricane taking a beating, he gets covered multiple times for two counts. More beatings on Hurricane, who still kicks out. USA chants. Hurricane responds with a sunset flip for two, but gets taken down again afterwards. More double teaming on Hurricane. Hurricane fights back only to get a thumb to the eye from Rob who chucks Hurricane into the corner. More tags from Resistance, snapmare by Dupree. Hurricane fighting back, goes for a chokeslam, doesn't work, off the ropes, Hurricane hits a tornado DDT. He tags John! John goes insane on La Resistance hitting spine busters and hip tosses and back drops all over the place. He throws one of them out of the ring and nails the other with a Rock Bottom type chokeslam move for the 1-2-3! Winners: Hurricane & John Heidrenich They celebrate with some military men in the crowd, La Resistance grabs the flag and they go after John in the ring, he nails another with his finishing move! No DQ Match Shane McMahon vs. Mistery Opponent Shane comes out first for the no-DQ match. After that, Test's music hits and out he comes (with his crutch) along with Stacy Keibler. Test takes a mic and says that it was Shane who put him in the situation he is but tonight, he will introduce the mystery opponent. Without warning, Test introduces himself as the opponent and tries to level Shane with the crutch but Shane ducks and beats him up. Shane climbs to the top rope but Test pulls Stacy in front of him so Shane doesn't do anything. Test then signals for someone to come from the back, but no does. Stacy slaps Test and Shane clotheslines him on the ramp. Test continues to call for this person, finally referring to him as Kane, but he doesn't come out. Meanwhile, Test gains the upperhand on Shane tossing him around and choking him out. Back in the ring, Test hits a Full Nelson slam but Kane still doesn't come out. Test grabs a couple garbage cans and a chair and throws them into the ring. Test tries to hit him with the crutch again but Stacy stops him so Test just throws her to the ground, allowing Shane to hit Test with a spear. Shane then sets Test up for another Van Terminator, but Kane's pyro goes off but still no one comes out. As Shane looks around, Test hits him again with the crutch and tries to hit the Pump Handle slam onto a can. Shane counters it and DDT's him into it instead. Shane then hits Test with a chair and tries for the Van Terminator again and hits it this time. He covers Test for the victory. Winner: Shane McMahon After the match, Shane calls out Kane. Kane doesn't come out so Shane beats up Test some more in hopes that it promps Kane to show face. He rams the chair into Test's broken foot but still no Kane. Finally, Kane walks out from the back. Shane basically says that Kane is afraid because he knows that Shane's the only one who can get as sick and twisted as him. Shane guarantees that at Survivor Series one of them will be taken to the hospital. So he officially challenges Kane to an "Ambulance Match" and Kane seemingly accepts because he smiles and walks away. #1 Contender Match For Survivor Series Women's Title Trish vs. Victoria vs. Lita vs. Gail Kim All four women waste no time as it's a mess early on in the ring. Trish pulls her Matrix move and give Gail a spinebuster. Victoria nails Lita with that side slam inversion. Victory roll by Trish on Victoria, two count. Molly stands at the top of the ramp looking on. Stevie gets involved as usual and Trish goes flying off the apron into the security rail. Gail and Victoria double team Lita. Lita powerbombs Victoria but Gail gets on the count to help out. Victoria hits the widows peak on Lita and it looks as if she is going to win but Gail kicks her right in the FACE. Victoria flips out and beats on Gail and then later throws her out of the ring. Stevie tries to get involved again but fails! Lita nails a wicked DDT on Victoria for the pin and to become the number one contender for Molly's title! Winner: Lita -#1 Contender- They air a video tribute to Hawk of the Road Warriors, who passed away earlier in the month. Coach comes out to review Austin's book, "The Stone Cold Truth". He says that there is no truth in the book, including Austin's claim that Eric Bischoff fired Austin in WCW over the phone because he didn't want to have a face-to-face meeting with him. Coach says the book is filled with lies, but he encourages everyone to go out and buy the book because soon it will become a collector's item. After Survivor Series, Stone Cold will be unemployed. Austin comes out from behind and interrupts him so Coach complains about losing his job as RAW commentator. Austin asks him if he wants to take a shot at him right now. Coach has another idea - why not Austin hit him? Austin declines and says that when his team wins at Survivor Series, he wants Coach to handle the post-match interviews because his face is the first face he wants to see. Austin walks away. Backstage, Terri interviews Jindrak and Cade. They end up arguing with one another over how much they want to win. Shawn Michaels comes into the picture and says he likes to see the fire they are displaying. He tells them that they have a decision to make - to make friends or make an impact. Cade and Jindrak know what they want so they leave. Theodore Long walks in and confronts Michaels. He asks to finish the business between HBK and Mark Henry and challenges him on behalf of Henry for next week. Michaels accepts. Eric Bischoff then comes in and says that Michaels just made his job a lot easier. Bischoff then gets Michaels escorted out of the building but Shawn says he will be back next week. Ric Flair & Randy Orton vs. Mark Jindrak & Garrison Cade Cade and Jindrak hit the ring as JR and King thank people for watching Raw or something. Randy Orton and the Nature Boy accompanied by Batista hit the ring. Maven comes to the ring to equal it up. Orton all over Jindrak early but Jindrak responds with a huge flying clotheslines. Cade in, shoulder block, reversed irish whip, clothesline by Orton who gets all over Cade with kicks. Flair tagged in, double team moves. Knife edge chops to Cade, elbow by Flair. Flair punching Cade in the head and dropping the knee! Jindrak and Cade turn it around a bit later with some big time dropkicks. Flair rolls up Jindrak but Maven comes in and clocks Flair, reversal.. one, two, three! Winners: Mark Jindrak & Garrison Cade After the match, Jindrak and Cade aling with Maven get a massive beatdown for their efforts. Batista powerbobms Cade, spinebusters Jindrak and then sit down powerbombs Maven! Intercontinental Title Rob Van Dam vs. Chris Jericho Jericho to the ring first, RVD follows with a huge pop from the fans and we are set to go. Jericho on RVD early in the corner, irish whip, RVD uses the ropes to spring into a high cross body, arm drag take downs and a kick to Jericho's head for a two count. Awesome reversal action into a holdless inzeguiri by y2J, who hits a back suplex and drops some elbows working the crowd in the process. Crowd behind RVD, Jericho runs into the ringpost, RVD hits his step over heel kick and works the corner with the moonsault then a northern lights suplex much like last week. Jericho comes back, bulldog, lionsault misses, RVD to the top, frog splash misses, Jericho roll up, 2 count. Reversals galore, RVD hits a low blow, goes for the walls and hits it, RVD in pain. Bischoff to the ring, distracts the ref! RVD gets the ropes but the ref doesn't see it! Jericho pulls RVD back to the middle of the ring and RVD TAPS! Jericho is the new champion!! Winner: Chris Jericho -New Intercontinental Champion- Stone Cold Steve Austin comes out and says that he can't reverse the decision but he can book Jericho's first title defense - against RVD and right now. Austin announces that it will be a steel cage match and asks for the cage to be lowered. He also bans everyone from ringside and Bischoff goes nuts, accidentally provoking Austin in the process. Eric runs away with Austin in pursuit. Intercontinental Title, Steel Cage Match Chris Jericho vs. Rob Van Dam Steel cage is down, RVD all over Jericho. Jericho responds by bending RVD over his back. Jericho runs at RVD and goes head first into the cage. He gets another one for his efforts and then catches a roundhouse kick. Jericho eats more steel! Jericho between ropes and cage, RVD uses the ropes to flip into Jericho's head! RVD climbing the cage, Jericho catches his foot, RVD kicks him off, jumps down, and kicks Jericho in the face, Jericho nails thecage. RVD climbing again, Jericho slams him off the top rope. Bulldog by Y2J, Lion Sault, lands on feet, RVD pulls him down and slingshots him into the corner but Y2J lands on the turnbuckles and climbs extremely fast to the top! RVD pulls him back by his hair, Jericho hits a bull dog off the ropes, both men down. Y2J climbing again, RVD barely catches him by the hair, both men on the ropes, RVD nails Jericho with a HUGE kick to the face and he starts climbing out. Jericho going for the door, RVD kicks it into his head and falls down to win his title back! Winner: Rob Van Dam -New Intercontinental Champion- After the match, numbers hit the ring, Steiner and Christian with a beatdown on RVD. The Dudleys make the save but then Teddy Long brings Mark Henry down and locks the cage. Henry creating carnage! Booker T his the ring and climbs to the top of the cage and dives onto Henry, Christian, Y2J, and Steiner! What a move! In the end though, Henry freak on everyone and dead bodies lay everywhere.
