| WWE RAW Results - 9/22/03 - Goldberg vs Chris Jericho | |||||||||
| RAW opens with Lilian specially welcoming the brave US Army men and women who are in arena tonight. She tells us that they're recovering from injuries suffered from fighting for the States. Lilian then goes on to introduce our new color commentators. Coach's music hits, and Snow and Coach come out - Coach decked out in a white cowboy hat and all. Coach and Snow welcome us to RAW, and brag about winning. They go onto to tell us about their match at Unforgiven. Goldberg's music hits, and Goldberg makes his way out to the ring fully equipped with the World Heavy Weight title. Goldberg poses for a bit, and then grabs the mic. Goldberg says he makes a promise to show up in Washington DC, with the belt, and that he kept his promise. Last night, Triple H found out, first hand to believe the hype. Stone Cold's music hits and he makes his way out. Austin grabs another mic and says there are only few things that make him happy... drinking beers, four letter words, giving the finger, and the US Army... and Bill Goldberg keeping his words, and pinning Triple H. Austin also re-informs us that Bill won, so he gets to stay in the WWE. Austin tells Goldberg that he's got four words for him... "I'll drink to that". Austin and Goldberg drink some beers. Eric Bischoff's music hits, and he makes his way down to the ring. Bischoff tells the guys that he just wants to congratulate Goldberg. He also wants to go on the record and say that a couple weeks ago, he didn't mean anything about saying Triple H would win... he was just trying to motivate Goldberg. He says he knows what it takes to get Goldberg's game face on, cause they go back a long time... and he created Goldberg, not Vince. Which is why he is so proud that Bill is the champ. As Bischoff turns around, he's met with Goldberg's spear. Austin and Goldberg continue drinking beer. We come back to see the replay of Goldberg spearing Bischoff... and we see Snow and Coach helping Bischoff to the back. Intercontinental Title Rob Van Dam vs. Christian RVD's music hits, and Mr. Monday Night makes his way to the ring for his IC match against Christian. Christian makes his way down to the ring, and acknowledges his peeps!! Christian starts with a kick, and send RVD to the corner. Christian swings RVD over to the other, but RVD flips out, and splashes him. 1-2... RVD nails a spin kick, and a standing moonsault. Christian runs to the outside, and starts leaving. RVD flips out of the ring onto Christian. Back in the ring, RVD does a leg drop to the outside. He then goes up for the Five Star Frog Splash, but misses. Christian attacks with some boots, and then nails kick to the armpit. Cover by Christian, kick out. Christian continues to give some boots, and puts RVD into a stretch and punches his ribs. RVD gets out, and school boys Christian for a two count. Christian pins RVD for a two count. Christian punches RVD, and gets kicked in the face by RVD. Leg sweep by RVD, and a rolling thunder... 1-2.. kick out. RVD hits a moonsault for another close pin. The men punch eachother, and RVD goes for another pin, and another, but doesn't get it. Christian falls to the outside, and RVD goes to get him, but Christian nails RVD with the belt, and gets disqualified. Winner: Rob Van Dam -DQ- Christian goes under the ring, and pulls out a ladder and smashes RVD in the head with it. He then sets the ladder up in the corner and calls out to the peeps. He then climbs the ladder and nails a Five Star Frog Splash on RVD from the top of the ladder. Yeah! This peep is happy. Backstage, Bischoff is being attending to, and Jericho comes in and says it's a travesty. He tells Bischoff that Austin was laughing at him, and Jericho says he needs Bischoff's help. He wants a title shot tonight, and Bischoff agrees. We're back from the commerical break, as Al Snow and Coach hype the Jericho/Goldberg match. They tells us we'll hear from Shane later on tonight. Jindrak and Cade's music hits, and The Evolution comes out and attacks them on the rampway. Trips, Orton and Flair beat the crap out of the tag team, and make their way to the ring. Triple H grabs the mic and tells the crowd to chant Goldberg's name. He says he's still the best in the business, even though he lost one match. He claims he's the best wrestler today, and he wakes up everyday knowing it, breathing it, and proving it. Last night, he wasn't beaten by Goldberg, but by himself - because he didn't believe the hype. Last night, Goldberg made him a believer. But, it's now time for him to make Goldberg believe... for Goldberg, the game has just started. He promises he will get his re-match, and tells Goldberg to keep his title warm, cause he's taking it back. With that, Triple H, The Legend Killer, and Flair leave the ring. We're back from another commercial break, and they plug "The Rundown" and his GQ cover, and tell us that The Rock will be here, live from Hollywood tonight. Teddy Long dances his way down to the ring with his tag-team of Rodney Mack and Mark Henry. Theodore gets on the mic and holla's at us. He says Washington DC is just another place that keeps the black man down... the "WHITE" house. He says "give a brotha a chance" and says he should be the president. He says he sees himself on the "dolla, dolla bill" and gives us a smirk. He introduces his secretaries, Henry and Mack. He says Mark Henry will give any white boy a chance tonight... and Tommy Dreamer accepts, and makes his way down with a Kendo stick and a trash can. Mark Henry vs. Tommy Dreamer He starts nailing Henry with the stick, but Henry takes him down with a clothesline. Mark, swings Dreamer into the corner, and snaps the kendo stick. He ten attempts to squish Dreamer, but Dreamer moves and nails Mark with the trash can. He then nails Mack with the trash can, but Henry grabs Dreamer and slams him to the mat and gets the pin. Winner: Mark Henry We're back, and we join Coach and Snow in Washington DC for RAW. Backstage, Evolution is in their lockeroom, Cade, and Jindrak bust in... with Maven. Triple H tells Jindrak and Cade that they have a match tonight. Jindrak/Cade/Maven vs. Evolution. Lita and Trish are walking backstage, as Christian and Jericho check them out. Austin interrupts, and asks Jericho if he's proud of what he did to JR and King. Next week, JR vs. Coach. Christian says Austin can't do that. Austin asks who Christian is to say that. He calls Christian a CLB... Christian asks what that is... "Christian like blondes"... Austin says, no.. it's Creepy Little Bastard. Austin then makes a RVD vs. Christian ladder match for the IC belt. Jericho says he's ready for Austin to play. Lita & Trish Stratus vs. Molly Holly & Gail Kim Back in the arena, Molly's music hits and she makes her way to the ring. Gail Kim follows and they're both wearing white and black attire. The "giggles" are then heard and Trish makes her way down to the ring and bounces outside the ring. Lita then comes out lipsyncing to her theme. Trish and Gail start the match, with Trish getting a headlock slam. Both ladies back up, and they lock up again, and Gail goes to the rope. Monkey flip by Trish, then a drop kick. 1-2 kick out. Gail tags, and Molly comes in and gets armdragged by Trish. Triss does her matrix thing, and turns it into a neck hold. Chops, and Trish takes Molly down. Tag to Lita, who nails a head scissors on Molly. Molly gets some chops, and swings Lita to the rope, but Lita counters. Head to Molly's groin. 1-2... kick out. Punches to Molly, and Gail nales Lita. Lita attacks Gail and walks into a neckbreaker by Molly. 1-2 kickout. Molly throws Lita around, and nails a flipping neckbreaker. 1-2, kickout. Gail and Molly double team, and now Gail is in the ring. Lita is rough-housed a little by Gail, who is now bad mouthing Trish. Gail straps Lita into a back stretch. Lita powers out, and nails a russian leg sweep. Lita tries to tag Trish, but Gail foils it. Gail tags to Molly, who takes down Lita and chokes her on the rope. Gail works on Lita's neck, as Molly distracts the ref. Molly goes for a suplex, but Lita counters and both Divas are down and Molly makes the tag, and knocks Trish off the apron and works on Lita some more. Molly comes in and Lita nails a double clothesline. Lita beats on both women, and swings Gail into the ropes and nails a back body drop. Suplex to Molly, and a tilt-awhirl slam to Gail. Trish comes in and takes Molly out. Lita nails a Twist of Fate on Gail and gets the pin. Winners: Lita & Trish Stratus Backstage, Jericho tells Bischoff he wants him to be the guest ref for his title match. Jericho says it's the plan to outsmart Austin and bring down Goldberg. Jericho convinces Bischoff to become the "Special Guest Outside Referee". We're back from another commerical break, and a musical montage is shown of the whole Stacy/Test/Steiner saga, including Unforgiven footage. Earlier today, Stacy apologizes backstage to Steiner. Test comes by and tells Steiner to get the bag. Steiner takes off his glasses, and Test uses Stacy as sheild. Test tells us that he ownes Steiner. Stacy says it's her fault... and Test tells her to shut up. Test and Stacy leave... as Steiner throws Test's bags around. Clips from the Shane/Kane match from Unforgiven is shown, including Shane's big bump. We join Shane in a hosptial, and he says he may be beaten up, but he's mentally happy. He then vows to take Kane down again. We hear some nise, and the nurse runs out screaming.But Kane walks into the room and beats up Shane, and pours blood on Shane. He then takes Shane's hospital bed for a ride. Kane continues to beat on Shane as the nurses all scream. Kane throws Shane into a door and leaves smiling. Dupree & Conway vs. The Hurricane & Rosey La Resistance's music hits, and out come the trio. Renee Dupree and Rob Conway are fighting in a tag match against The Hurricane and Rosey. Hurricane and Conway start the match. Conway gets Hurricane into their corner, but Hurricane comes back with a takedown. Rosey runs in and takes down Renee. Hurricane, Renee and Conway are on the outside and Sylvan attacks Hurricane. Conway and Dupree double team Hurricane. Now Dupree is the legal man, and he drop kicks Hurricane a bit, and then beats on him and goes for the pin. Tag to Conway, and Hurricane is punched, another cover, and then Hurricane is strapped into a back stretch. Hurricane powers his way up, and Hurricane nails a HurriSlam. Rosey is now in and takes Dupree down. Back body drop to Renee, and a slam to Conway. Leg drop to Conway and Renee breaks the pin. Renee and Conway double team Rosey, but Rosey clotheslines them. Hurricane nails a cross body on Renee. A double neck breaker on Conway gets Hurricane and Rosey the pin. Winners: The Hurricane & Rosey The Dudleyz come out while Hurricane and Rosey celebrate in the ring. The Dudleyz raise S.H.I.T.'s arms, and they all go out to ringside and shake hands with the US troops. D-Von starts a USA chant. Backstage, Evolution makes their way to the ring. The Evolution vs. Maven, Jindrak & Cade Evolution comes out first, followed by the team of Maven, Jindrak and Cade who run out to the ring. Maven takes Flair, Cade takes Orton, and Jindrak take Triple H. The youngsters take Evolution to the outside. Inside, Triple H beats on Jindrak. Jindrak tags to Maven, who is taken down by Triple H. Ric Flair is tagged and Flair gives Maven some chops in the corner. Swing to the rope, and Maven counters a armdrag. Back roll, 1-2, Flair kicks out. Maven back body drops Flair. Maven back inot the ropes, and is nailed by an elbow. Orton gets tagged as does Cade. Cade takes Orton down, and both guys exchange punches. Orton gets Cade down and roughhouses Cade. Triple H is then tagged in again, and he takes Cade into the corner and punches the crap out of him. Earl and Trips get into an arguement, as Flair chokes out Cade. Orton is now tagged in, and kicks Cade... knee smash to Cade and more punches by Orton. Triple H is tagged in again, and Orton doubles teams on Cade with Trips. Trips mocks Cade, and pulls him back into their corner. Sleeper on Cade by Trips... Cade reverses into a backdrop. Bulldog on Trips, as Cade tries for a tag. Trips tags to Orton, who takes out Jindrak, and nails a backdrop on Cade. Orton tags to Flair, and Cade tags to Maven. Maven brutalizes Flair, and now all six men in the ring. In the ring, Jindrak takes down Triple H with a top rope move. Orton goes to nails Cade with a chair, but Earl takes the chair away. Maven nails a missile dropkick on Flair and pins Flair, but Orton has the ref occupied. Triple H runs in a pedigrees Maven, and Flair gets the pin. Randy then RKO's Cade. Winners: The Evolution After the match, Triple gets on the mic and tells the fans that he's needed by the fans more than he needs the fans. "The Rundown" Premiere Coach and Snow take us to the red-carpet premiere of "The Rundown". Mark Lloyd interviews The Rock and The Rock thanks Vince, and some wrestlers for getting him to where he is today. He thanks the fans, and then goes back to cutting a promo. World Heavyweight Title Chris Jericho vs. Goldberg Eric Bischoff comes out, clutching his ribs, dressed in ref's attire. Jericho's intro hits, and he makes his way to the ring. Goldberg's music hits, and he makes his way from his lockerroom and makes his way to the ring. Jericho and Goldberg start off with armdrags, and the match quickly makes its way to the outside. Goldberg has some words with Bischoff, and Jericho inadvertantly collides with Bischoff. Goldberg swings Jericho around, and Jericho capitalizes on Goldberg in the corner. Goldberg body presses Jericho and throws him onto the rope crushing Jericho's nuts. Goldberg goes for the spear outside, and Jericho moves making Goldber collide into the stairs. Jericho kicks Goldberg, and nails a dropkick from the top. Jericho nails a facebuster, and goes for the pin again, but comes up short. Arm stretch on Goldberg by Jericho. Goldberg counters out and kicks Jericho. Chris nails a DDT on Bill and tries for the pin. Jericho attempts "The Walls of Jericho" on Goldberg, but Goldberg kicks out, and nails his body press slam on Jericho. Goldberg goes for pin, but Bischoff pulls the ref out. Jericho low-blows Goldberg, and nails a facebuster then the Asai Moonsault. Jericho covers, and Bischoff counts, but Goldberg kicks out. Austin comes down and hits Bischoff allowing Goldberg to nails a spear and "The Jackhammer" on Jericho for the 1-2-3.
