| WWE RAW Results - 7/21/03 - Kane Attacks Linda McMahon! | ||||||||||
| Raw began with Eric Bischoff standing in the ring. Bischoff said everyone knew that he and Jim Ross were never friends but he said nobody deserves to be set on fire. Bischoff said that the actions of Kane were the result of Steve Austin and said Linda McMahon was in the house to fire Austin tonight. Just then, Linda McMahon made her entrance and told Bischoff that Kane was responsible for Kane's actions. Linda said JR had yet to press formal charges on Kane but Kane was under house arrest, although that doesn't prevent him from doing his job. She said Kane would be escorted to the ring by policemen to face Rob Van Dam later in the night. Steve Austin decided to make his way out and said since JR wasn't pressing charges, he wanted to handle Kane his way and kick his ass. Bischoff interrupted and said that was exactly the reason that Linda was there to fire him. Linda spoke up and said she never told Bischoff she was firing Austin. However, she did tell Austin that he has to stop beating up WWE superstars if he wants to continue to be co-GM. Linda said if Austin lays his hands on another superstar, he'll be fired. Bischoff gloated about that but Linda said if Austin is provoked, then he can take matters into his own hands. She then told Austin to take the night off to think about it. Again, Bischoff gloated but Linda turned to him and told him to take the night off as well. Austin scared Bischoff out of the ring and then had a few beers thrown his way. He cracked open one for himself and Linda and said thanks for the memories just in case this turns out to be his last night as co-GM. Molly Holly & Victoria (with Steven Richards) defeated Trish Strats & Gail Kim in 3:51. Trish and Molly worked most of the match and towards the end all four ladies were in the ring brawling. Molly ducked a kick from Trish which connected with Kim, allowing Molly to get the win. Backstage, Terri was on hand to cover Kane's arrival when Chris Jericho interrupted with a little song about kicking Shawn Michaels' ass tonight. Jericho walked off as Austin came into the picture to meet up with Bischoff. Neither of them were happy that they were ousted from tonight's show. Austin took a cheapshot at Bischoff and asked him if he planned to take Raw to where WCW was but then reminded him that WCW went out of business. Bischoff insisted it was bought out, the two argued back and forth for a minute before Austin said, "I oughta punch you in the mouth." Bischoff walked away with Austin giving him the one finger salute. Evolution hit the ring next. Randy Orton took the mic and referred to himself as a "Legend Killer" and talked about beating up Mick Foley a few weeks ago. The show then went to break. Randy Orton defeated Val Venis in 3:34. Orton had Ric Flair at ringside while Triple H joined Coach and Lawler at the announce table. Decent match with obvious involvement from Flair which led to Orton hitting his finisher for the win. After the match, Evolution gathered in the ring as Orton donned the groups new shirt. It had the Evolution logo on the front and said, "Paid, Laid and Made" on the back. Triple H said that's exactly what they are and said nobody could stand in their way. Goldberg interrupted and got face to face with Triple H before telling H he was next. They almost got into it but Triple H and co. backed off as Triple H said, "On my terms." After the break, Evolution talked backstage as H told Orton half of their plan was accomplished and they needed to follow through at the end of the night. Chris Jericho defeated Shawn Michaels in 24:02. Midway through the match, the show suddenly went to break and when we returned, Coach and Lawler apologized for the goof. During the match, Ric Flair walked out and got into it with Michaels. After not being able to put away Michaels, Jericho got fed up and brought a chair into the ring, only to have Michaels superkick it back in his face. After that, Orton ran in and nailed his finisher on Michaels on the chair. Jericho crawled over but Michaels barely kicked out. Jericho then locked on the Walls of Jericho in the corner of the ring. Michaels struggled and came close to reaching the ropes but Jericho dragged him back into the center where Michaels tapped. After the break, Lance Storm stood in the ring with another prepared statement. Storm made a plea to the Hollywood elite (specifically Rob Reiner, who was in the front row) and said Hollywood needed to look no futher than the center of the ring for its next star. Midway through his speech, he was interrupted as the cameras cut backstage to see Kane being escorted into the building. Kane was flanked by six or so policemen and was locked in chains. Booker T defeated Test in 4:43 to retain the Intercontinental Title. During the match, Scott Steiner came out and sat himself down on the ramp and was soon joined by Stacy Keibler who gave Steiner a lapdance, distracting Test long enough for Booker to get the win with a rollup. Backstage, some of the faces were discussing Kane's recent actions when the shot focused over on The Hurricane and Rosey. Hurricane mentioned how he and Kane were once tag team champions and then said he saw some superhero potential in Rosey. Goldust entered the picture and said Rosey could be a super hero in training. A SHIT. Clever. Kane vs. Rob Van Dam went to a no-contest around 5:00. Van Dam rushed to the ring and hit Kane with an array of moves including a nice moonsault off the railing. Eventually, Kane started to take control and the two battled up to the stage. Kane had RVD set up for a chokeslam off the stage but Arn Anderson and several other road agents, as well as Linda McMahon, came out to stop him. Kane picked up RVD over his shoulder and drove him into the part of the set with the big screens that display the Raw logo. The lights sparked and blew out after RVD hit it. Kane then cleared through the agents and refs and grabbed Linda by the throat. Jerry Lawler left his announce position and went and clocked Kane a few times to get him to let her go. Kane dropped her and decked out Lawler and then picked up Linda and hit her with a Tombstone piledriver on the stage. Kane laughed and walked backstage as everyone surrounded Linda and called for help as the show went off the air. Credit: Dustin Tingue of LordsOfPain.net |
