WWE RAW Results For June 23, 2003 - Kane Unmasked!
Test & Christian defeated Booker T & Scott Steiner (with Stacy Keibler) in 3:11. The heels managed to pull out the cheap win, even after Christian missed hitting Steiner with his title belt. Test shoved Steiner into Stacy, who was on the apron, and then nailed a big boot for the win. Afterwards, Stacy was grabbing her ankle.

Backstage, Kane looked at himself in the mirror as the image faded away to a flashback from 1997 when Kane debuted at the Hell in a Cell match between the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels.

Ross and Lawler plugged the WWE.com poll, which asked if Kane would win the title or be unmasked.

Maven defeated Christopher Nowinski (with Theodore Long) in 0:31. Before the match, Long said Nowinksi was being held down because he was smart and also added that he should've won tough enough. Maven entered and the two brawled for a few seconds before Maven countered a pin with a bridge and won the match.

After the break, Chris Jericho made his way out for the Highlight Reel. Jericho mocked the New York accent before rolling some footage from last week which showed Steve Austin calling Lance Storm boring. Jericho's guest was Lance Storm who came out with a prepared statement. Storm mentioned that he enjoys a good laugh just like everyone else, but felt that Austin overstepped his bounds last week. Storm continued and said he felt his athletic ability was enough to entertain the masses and said he'd appreciate it if they stopped chanting "boring." Before he could continue, some crew members got in the ring and started removing Jericho's set as Steve Austin appeared on the TitanTron and started chanting "boring." Austin told Storm he was just trying to motivate him last week and then told the two he had them set to face two guys that knew a thing or two about moving furniture...

The Dudley Boyz defeated Chris Jericho & Lance Storm in 8:16. Austin's opponents for Storm and Jericho where Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley who came out to a great pop. Good back and forth action to start off but after a few minutes, Storm and Jericho isolated Bubba Ray. Storm had Bubba in a headlock which drew some "boring" chants but eventually, Bubba broke out and hit D-Von for the hot tag. The Dudleyz took control from there, hitting the "Whassup!" headbutt on Storm and then calling for the tables. No tables, though, as Storm and Jericho recovered just long enough to put a stop to that. Jericho got taken out with a double flapjack and then the Dudz put the match away with a 3D on Storm.

Another Kane highlight was shown from five months ago when he was unmasked during a tag match which caused him to run to the back, hiding his identity.

Backstage, Randy Orton read and made fun of a passage from Mick Foley's new book while Ric Flair listened. The two then talked about their tag match tonight.

La Rsistance made their way out next and decided to give us a rendition of the French National Anthem. The show went to commercial while the two were still singing.

After the break, Grenier and Dupree were still singing but they were soon interrupted by The Hurricane. Hurricane exchanged some words with the two before they told him to go find an American partner to take them on. Hurricane said he already did and it was someone who had experience in beating up "maggots like you." With that, Sgt. Slaughter came out.

La Rsistance defeated The Hurricane & Sgt. Slaughter in a non-title match in 1:58. Early in the match, Hurricane dove off the top onto Grenier as Slaughter locked Dupree in the Cobra Clutch. Grenier was tagged in but he too ended up in the Clutch, however, Dupree came in and clocked Slaughter with a title belt for the cheap win.

Once again, we saw Kane in the back and saw another flashback. This one was just from a couple weeks ago when Austin asked Kane where the old Kane was.

After the break, Steve Austin hit the ring and announced that MSG would be the site of WrestleMania XX and with that a WrestleMania XX logo was unveiled. Austin, though, said WrestleMania was another story for another day and went on to call out Mick Foley who made his way into the ring. Austin told Foley he had something for him and Foley took a step back, fearing a Stunner, but Austin assured him that wasn't it. Rob Van Dam's music fired up and he came out with the old WWF Hardcore Title belt in a framed case. Following Van Dam were The Dudley Boyz, Spike Dudley, Tommy Dreamer and Al Snow. Austin then had a nice video package roll, highlighting Foley's career. After seeing it, Foley said, "Damn, I almost forgot how good I really was." Vince McMahon then interrupted. McMahon got on the mic and said he'd like to take the glass case which housed the Hardcore Title and smash it over Foley's head, but he didn't. Instead, McMahon said, "Thank you" to Foley, much to the surprise of those in the ring and those in the crowd. Foley and Vince shook hands and then Foley gave McMahon a hug. Foley then talked about being in the ring with all these great superstars, (and Al Snow), and then said he remembered being a kid and sitting in MSG and seeing Jimmy Snuka fly off the top of the cage and giving the fans a huge thrill. Foley said he thinks throughout his 15 year career, he's been able to give the fans a similar thrill. Foley mentioned it was great to be back these last couple of weeks and said there was no place like home. Foley then said we'd see him again someday and hugged the other guys in the ring as the show went to break.

Shawn Michaels & Kevin Nash defeated Randy Orton & Ric Flair in 13:16. The heels isolated Michaels for most of the match and worked over his arm. Finally, Nash tagged in and hit a few right hands, then a slam on Orton, a slam on Flair, a big boot on Orton and then a big boot on Flair, yay. Later in the match, Michaels nailed Flair with the Sweet Chin Music for the win.

Another Kane highlight was shown, this one from last week when Kane went ballistic on La Rsistance. We then saw Kane in the back warming up.

During the break footage then showed Foley and McMahon in the back with Foley signing a copy of his new book for Vince. Orton and Flair walked by and Foley told them "Nice match" but the two took offense to it and started to beat down Foley. Foley fought back, even getting the Mandible Claw on Flair for a second. Orton then ended the brawl when he kicked Foley down a flight of stairs. McMahon then stepped in and said he needed a janitor to clean up the mess.

Theodore Long was in the ring for the second time tonight, alongside Rodney Mack. Long called out a white boy for the white boy challenge and Goldberg answered.

Goldberg defeated Rodney Mack in 0:26.
Mack attacked Goldberg while he was on the stage but Goldberg nailed the spear and Mack rolled down the ramp. Goldberg tossed Mack into the ring, threw a couple knees and then hit the Jackhammer for the win.

Backstage, Rob Van Dam wished Kane luck in his match, Kane said nothing and RVD walked away. Kane then smashed the mirror he had been looking at himself in.

Triple H (with Ric Flair) defeated Kane in 11:28 to retain the World Heavyweight Title.
Late in the match, Kane came off the top with a clothesline which knocked H into referee Earl Hebner. Flair then tried to get himself involved but ended up getting a chokeslam. Triple H hit a Pedigree but Kane kicked out. Randy Orton then ran in through the crowd and hit Kane with a lowblow as he was trying to chokeslam Triple H. H then hit the Pedigree for the win.

After the match, Eric Bischoff walked out and said Kane agreed to the stipulations and told him he had to take off his mask. Kane began to take off his mask but Orton, Flair and Triple H attacked him. Van Dam then hit the ring and helped Kane get rid of Evolution. Just before Kane was about to light off the four corner pyros, he stopped and started to unmask. After a few moments, Kane took off his mask (which had a long haired wig attatched to it) and revealed a half bald kinda creepy looking face which was smudged with black paint. Kane then chokeslammed RVD to end the show.
