WWE RAW Results - 5/26/03 - Flair& HBK vs Triple H
A recap of last week's happenings are shown which included Triple H asking Ric Flair to lay down for him, only to have Shawn Michaels tell Flair that he's still the man.

Shawn Michaels kicked off the show and introduced Ric Flair who came out and joined Michaels in the ring. HBK reiterated what he said last week about Flair and said he was the standard and the reason he wanted to get into the business. Michaels then challenged Flair in the ring to see if Michaels really had reached the level that Ric Flair set so many years ago.

Flair took the mic and thanked Michaels for reminding him of who he is last week. Flair said that he passed the torch to Michaels and feels that HBK has taken the business to a whole new level. Flair accepted the challenge which led to Triple H making his entrance. Triple H took responsibility for picking Ric Flair up off the ground six months ago and reminding him that he's the Nature Boy. H told Flair he better not listen to Michaels' emotional bullcrap and not bite the hand that feeds him. Flair responded by saying Triple H is the best in the game today, but it was Shawn Michaels who reminded him of who he is and that he's not following the champ around anymore, he's standing alone. H blew up at Flair and told him he doesn't want to run against him.

Eric Bischoff then came out to the top of the stage. Bischoff said while he was a little "ill" last week, Stone Cold took the liberty of running the show. Bischoff said Austin isn't the only one that can throw his weight around. Bischoff agreed that Michaels vs. Flair sounds like an excellent match, but not tonight, at Bad Blood instead. Bischoff then booked Flair and Michaels against Triple H in a handicap match.

Ross and Lawler hyped up Jericho's Highlight Reel which will have Goldberg as the guest and also mentioned Stone Cold's Memorial Day Celebration.

[Break]

(1) Booker T vs. Test (with Stacy Keibler). Test dominated early on but things fell apart for him when Booker countered a pumphandle slam. Test then threw Stacy in the way of a baseball slide from T. Scott Steiner would come out to help Stacy while in the ring, Booker scored the axe kick for the win.
Winner: Booker T

Backstage, Triple H sucked up to Steve Austin (who had a black eye) and tried to get out of his match. After several comments on Austin's job as GM, his new shirts and his physique, Austin still said the match was on. Finally, Triple H called Austin a piece of trash and said he'd win the match tonight.

Trish Stratus came out after the break and joined Ross and Lawler for commentary on the next match.

(2) Val Venis vs. Steven Richards (with Victoria). Before the match, Venis got on the mic and said the rumors were true, he's starting his own adult film company. Venis went on to offer Victoria a role in his new movie but Richards punked him out to start the match. Richards controlled early but Venis made his way back with a powerbomb and then followed up with the Money Shot for the win.
Winner: Val Venis

Backstage, Jonathan Coachman had a word with Kevin Nash and said the big man seems to be out of control as of late. Nash agreed but said that his best friend turned his back on him. Nash said Triple H's world is starting to fall apart and in two weeks he's going to bloody him up and take his title. Coach mentioned H taking on Flair and Michaels tonight and Nash said he was going to sit back and watch Triple H get his ass kicked.

Meanwhile, Terri spoke with Christian who ripped on the hometown crowd and cut somewhat of a Rock-esque promo. Goldust interrupted and said Booker T was going to beat Christian for the title at Bad Blood. Christian said both Booker and Goldust weren't championship material which prompted Booker T to cut in and say he was going to beat Christian for the title at Bad Blood.

The co-GM's were then shown talking about the PPV. Austin reminded Bischoff that it was "Stone Cold Presents Bad Blood" to which Bischoff disagreed. Eventually, the two decided to have a little competition to see who could bring more entertainment to the show.

In the arena, Lawler asked everyone to ride for the singing of "America the Beautiful" as done by Lilian Garcia who looked hot as hell tonight. Before she could finish the song, La Rsistance interrupted her. Rene Dupre insulted the American people and said there was nothing beautiful about our country. Slyvain Grenier added some words in French and then said America needs to stop sticking its nose in other countries' business. Steve Austin then made his way down to the ring, chucked Grenier over the top and dropped Dupre with a Stunner. While La Rsistance made their way to the back, Austin said "S'il vous plait this (middle finger), ya sonofabitch!" Austin then called Garcia back in the ring and sang along with her for "America the Beautiful." Austin then had some beers thrown in the ring and shared a few with Garcia before taking a lap around the ring and high fiving fans.

Backstage, Flair was getting prepped for his match as he stepped into a dressing room. Someone in a mask then peered around the corner.

(3) Nontitle Match: Christian vs. Goldust. Back and forth action to start but Christian takes control after Goldust misses a tackle and goes flying out of the ring. Eventually, Goldust comes back and sets up Christian (who was sporting a new pair of tights, by the way) for the Shattered Dreams. Christian, however, pulled the ref in front of him before Goldust could hit the kick. Shortly after, Goldust won it with a quick powerslam.
Winner: Goldust

After the break, Rodney Mack and Theodore Long were in the ring for the white boy challenge. This week's challenge was answered by Bubba Ray Dudley.

(4) White Boy Challenge: Rodney Mack (with Theodore Long) vs. Bubba Ray Dudley. Dudley got the quick upper hand and hit a bunch of his signature moves but couldn't keep Mack down for three. Christopher Nowinski ran in through the crowd and clocked Bubba in the back of the head with his facemask. With Bubba knocked out, Mack locked on his submission move, the Blackout to get the win at the 2:30 mark. Afterwards, D-Von ran in to help out Bubba.
Winner: Rodney Mack

Backstage, Grenier and Dupre were complaining to Bischoff about Austin's treatment of them. Bischoff said it was out of line but promised to make it up to them. Bischoff said since Dupre was out of action of the night, he'd put Grenier in a flag match with Rob Van Dam, and if Grenier won, he'd earn his team a shot at the tag team titles for Bad Blood.

Meanwhile, Jericho is seen getting ready for the Highlight Reel.

Ross and Lawler then mentioned the results of the WWE.com poll for tonight which I forgot to mention earlier. This week's question was "Will Goldberg spear Chris Jericho tonight?" and the fans gave a resounding "Yes" with 81% thinking Jericho would get speared.

Backstage, Triple H confronted Ric Flair who again chewed out Triple H and said he was coming with everything he had. After Flair left, H said he'd give Flair something to cry about.

(5) Flag Match: Slyvain Grenier (with Rene Dupre) vs. Rob Van Dam (with Kane). The objective is to capture the flag here with French and American flags suspended at opposite corners of the ring. Van Dam takes advantage early, hitting the Rolling Thunder. On the outside, Dupre started with Kane who went after him but ended up meeting the steel steps with a drop toehold. Van Dam hit a plancha on Dupre to break that up and then went back to work in the ring. Grenier was close to capturing his flag but Van Dam knocked him off the top and then went for senton but Grenier shoved the ref in the way and RVD collided with him. RVD then took out Grenier and then climbed up top to grab the American flag. However, the ref was out so the match wasn't called. With Kane out, Dupre hopped in the ring and hit the flapjack with Grenier on Van Dam. Dupre then put the American flag back up and Grenier grabbed his flag just as the ref came to.
Winner: Slyvain Grenier

Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel was next. Before Jericho got to talking about Goldberg, he said his guest next week would be The Rock. Jericho then talked about Goldberg and answered why he hatched the plan to run him down a couple of weeks ago. Jericho said that nobody in the company wants Goldberg in WWE. Jericho recalled the old WCW days when Goldberg first came in and said he took Goldberg under his wing and tried to show him the ropes but, as Goldberg climbed the ladder faster and faster, his ego became bigger and bigger. Jericho then said when he wanted to face Goldberg, he didn't get the chance because, apparently, he wasn't a big enough name. Jericho said he then left WCW for WWE and became one of the biggest names in the business. Jericho then went on to challenge Goldberg for Bad Blood just as Goldberg's music fired up and he hit the ring. Jericho quickly left the ring as Goldberg got on the mic and told Jericho to get back in the ring so he could "put him out of his misery." Jericho refused and said not until Goldberg accepted the challenge. Goldberg accepted but still called Jericho back in the ring. Jericho hopped up on the apron and demanded Goldberg to leave his ring before he had to beat him out of it. Goldberg grabbed Jericho by the throat and threw him into the ring but Jericho then sprayed mace into Goldberg's eyes and speared him before leaving.

After the break, Terri was trying to catch up to Jericho who was hightailing it out of the arena.

(6) Handicap Match: Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels & Ric Flair.
Michaels started off the match which Triple H quickly took control of. H had the Pedigree set but Michaels countered with a backdrop and then nailed H with Sweet Chin Music. Backstage, we saw Kevin Nash watching the match. Michaels finally made the tag to Flair who came in and immediately punked out Michaels. In the back, we saw the masked man clock Nash with a chair. In the ring, Flair beat down Michaels and Triple H hit him with the Pedigree for the win.
Winner: Triple H

Flair and Michaels continued the beatdown on HBK until Kevin Nash hit the ring and cleaned house. The masked man then jumped in the ring but he too got knocked down. Triple H then plastered Nash with a chair and then stood in the center of the ring, arms raised, as Flair pulled the mask off the guy to reveal Randy Orton. Flair, H and Orton then kept up the assault as the show went off the air.
