The King and JR introduce us to the San Diego crowd as tonight a 20 man over the top battle royal will crown the number one contender for Chris Benoit's WWE title!
Lita hits the ring as she is ready for action. Remember this week Lita must give Kane and answer to his question, and it better be the right one!
Trish Stratus vs. Lita
Trish comes to the ring to a round of boos and we get under way. Trish taunts Lita with some phony boo, I scared you type stuff, but Lita knocks her right down to the mat and topples her for some punches. Trish fights back in the corner with some hair pulls as she throws Lita to the mat and kicks her in the gut. Trish is in control with some right hands until Lita fires back and puts Trish down with a flying headscissor. Back and forth action for a few minutes as the two brawl back and forth, Trish carrying most of the offense. Trish gains control and climbs the top and sits on the buckle as she grabs Lita from below and chokes her. Trish dives off the topes and hits a clothesline for a two count. Lita is in trouble as the crowd starts to get behind her.
Lita reverses a kick with a takedown and bridge for two, but Trish regains control quickly. Lita starts to fight back, but she runs into a Trish spinebuster for another near fall.
End of the match: Lita counters the Stratusfaction with a back suplex and she builds some momentum hitting Trish with two clotheslines, a snap suplex, and a russian leg sweep. Lita hits a reverse neckbreaker twist of fate but Trish kicks out! As this happens Kane gets on the Titan Tron and says "Liiiiiiitaaaaaaa, Liiiiiiiiiiiiitaaaaa." This allows Trish to get a roll-up and use the ropes to get a victory.
Winner: Trish Stratus
After the match Kane gets on the titan Tron again and he says he wants Lita's answer tonight! YES, OR NO.
Orton in the Ring: Randy Orton hits the ring with the IC Belt held high. He grabs the mic and says that if you haven't noticed, he likes to talk about himself! He likes to talk about beating Mick Foley, and how he beat Edge last week on Raw. He then says that he is the longest reining IC champion in the last 7 years. True fact says JR. He says that after tonight he will also be one half of the tag team champions when he and Batista defeat Edge and Chris Benoit. But he says that tonight is not just about him, but all of Evolution! He says HHH will bring the world title back to Evolution. He then says that Evolution will ENSURE that HHH wins the Battle Royal. "THERE'S NO STOPPING EVOLUTION, THERE'S NO STOPPING EVOLUTION."
Orton goes to speak some more but Shelton Benjamin hits the ring with his music blazing. Shleton runs over the things Orton says as he asks Orton if he said that HHH is the greatest wrestler of all time. He then reminds Randy that he beat HHH.. not once, but twice! As far as he's concerned tonight is about Shelton Benjamin winning the battle royal and going on to Bad Blood and there is nothing Evolution can do about it. Orton says he had luck, but we all know that luck runs out. Orton spews some fighting words and Shelton tells him that they should fight for the IC Title. Randy says "Jeez Shelton you sure are uppity, that's the thing about you people." Randy says that he would not soil the title by putting it on the line against Shelton, so the answer to his question is NO. Shelton says: "Well Randy, since you won't put up, try getting up!" Shelton throws some rights and takes Randy down with a big clothesline. Randy is thrown to the corner where he takes the Shelton Splash! Flair comes to the ring to save his fellow stable mate.
When we come back from break, Evolution is gathering together in the back. Orton says he will take care of Shelton some other time. They discuss the tag matches and battle royal. We cut to Eugene who says he wants another match tonight! Eric shows up and says he wants a word with Mr. Regal. He pulls him aside as they talk about the match. Eugene is playing with a bucket in the backround trying to drink a bowling pin! Eric says that they are going to try and break down Eugene mentally. He tells Regal to make sure Eugene comes down to the ring for an interview by himself tonight! JR and King promote the battle royal and then they show clips from last week's suspension of HBK. They have not seen him since and he will not be in tonight's battle royal!
Kane vs. Val Venis
Val demanded this match after last weeks beat down he took from Kane. Val comes to the ring looking pissed off, the bell rings and Val starts with right hands to no avail. Val fights hard though and wins a few battles as he tris a Russian leg sweep. Kane blocks, but misses an elbow drop. Val jumps on Kane and takes him down as he starts to punch him like crazy. Val gets up as the ref tells him to do so and he takes a run at Kane, but Kane nails a giant big boot! Kane calls for the chokeslam and he hits it to get the victory.
Winner: Kane
After the match Matt Hardy hits the ring with a head of steam as he attacks Kane and takes him to the outside. Matt grabs a chair and gets a shot in on Kane who rolls in the ring. Back in the ring, Matt makes a run at Kane with the chair but catches a big boot. Kane then goes on to chokeslam Matt Hardy and give him some hard shots. Kane puts Matt in a tree of woe and grabs wire from the outside and he chokes him with it. He then sticks Matt Hary's head in the chair and he stands on it choking the life out him! Matt is going out cold when Lita runs to the ring and begs Kane to stop. He does when Lita tells him that the answer is yes. Lita drops to Matt, but Kane picks her up and embraces her. Kane lets her go as he leaves to the back. Meds come to help the fallen Matt Hardy. What did Lita say yes to?
World Tag Team Titles
Chris Benoit and Edge (c) vs Randy Orton and Batista (with Flair)
Edge and Randy Orton start the match with a lock up. They break in the corner and start it up again. This time Edge gets the best with a knockdown. Randy fights back with upper cuts but Edge fires back. Edge hits a back body drop on Orton after a whip to the ropes. Benoit is tagged in and he gets some shots on Orton who cowers out and tags Batista. Batista does a number on Benoit with clubbing blows followed by a shoulder block take down for a two count.
Batista works Benoit to the corner where Orton is tagged. Double teaming by Evolution is very successful. Orton however can't handle Benoit who fires back and chops the nipples right off Orton. Edge is tagged and he works a number on Orton with clubbing blows to the head and neck.
Orton goes flying over the top rope courtesy of Edge. Benoit and Edge come in the ring together and they work over Batista. Edge holds Batista against the ropes and Benoit comes flying off the opposite ropes to nail him with a clothesline to the outside! Both Evolution members are down outside the ring as we cut to a commercial break!
When we come back Orton has Edge in a pain killer in the middle of the ring. During the commercial Edge ran at Batista and missed hitting the ring post with his shoulder. Edge starts fighting back only to get taken back down. Batista is tagged back in and Edge really needs a tag as he is in pain.
Edge tries to fight his way back but he keeps getting knocked down. Benoit breaks a tag somewhere in there to keep his team alive. Orton comes back in the ring and he stomps away on Edge's hurt shoulder. Evolution continue to wear down Edge who is in one hell of a bad way right now. Edge throws elbows to Orton who responds with his own elbows. Edge holds the ropes and Orton misses a dropkick. Instead of tagging, Edge slingshots Orton and hits the reverse sitdown drop for a two count. Both men and down and crawling for tags. Orton climbs on top Edge to stop him from tagging, Randy goes off the ropes, Edge ducks a clothesline and hits a major DDT. both men down again. Finally Benoit gets tagged in!
Benoit goes buck wild on Orton with a knee followed by a snap suplex and some punches and chops. Benoit gives Orton a back breaker for two. Batista interferes but Benoit knocks him off the apron.
Edge and Benoit double team Orton and torpedo him into Batista. Edge and Benoit work double team moves but Batista gets in a harsh blow on both men. Batista goes for the powerbomb on Benoit but Benoit gets out and goes for the crossface but Batista holds on and throws Benoit into the ref! Edge and Batista go to the outside and in the ring Benoit hits the triple German's on Orton. Benoit calls for the head butt, but Flair tosses Orton a belt and interferes with Benoit who tosses him aside. Benoit dives for the head butt, but Orton puts the belt on top of himself and Benoit crashes head first into it! Orton covers, ref is up.. 1...2... KICK OUT!
Benoit is down and hurting as Flair comes and grabs the belt from Orton so he does not get DQ'ed. Flair is on the apron and Randy is in the ring facing away from him when Edge hits a Double Spear! Batista takes him to the outside and back in the ring Orton and Benoit face off. Orton goes for the RKO but Benoit takes him down in the crossface! Randy Orton has nowhere to go and he taps out!

Eugene and Regal are in the back as his interview is next. Regal looks as if he wants to tell Eugene what's up, but he decides not to at the end. Poor Eugene.
Before Eugene's interview we see clips of his big win last week. Eugene comes to the ring to horrible song that seems like a rendition of eye of the tiger!
Todd goes to ask him a question but Eugene hugs him! He goes to ask another question but the Coach comes to the ring and tells Todd to take a hike as the A team is taking over. Eugene waves bye to him as he leaves. Coach asks Eugene how his win felt and Eugene goes to say something but Coach grabs the mic away. Coach then tells him that the people don't like him, they like to make fun of him. He tells Eugene that he is a joke and his purpose is to be a laughing stock. Coach goes on to degrade Eugene. Eugene looks hurt by the words and Coach tells him "what's the matter, you gonna cry? Tell your friends? You don't have any friends." Coach continues to degrade him as the crowd tries to back Eugene up. Coach tells him to get lost and tell everyone that he came pretty close to his dream, then he says he forgot, Eugene does not have friends. Eugene leaves the ring looking very humiliated. Eugene stops at the top of the steps to wave goodbye and THE MUSIC OF THE ROCK HITS. The rock is HERE! Eugene cannot believe it!
The Rock leads Eugene back to the ring as the crowd is going buck wild! Eugene is in awe as The Rock stares down the Coach. The Rock says that Eugene ain't going nowhere! The Rock goes on to say what he was hearing and he says wait one second excuse me! Finally............ you get the point!
The Rock says that there is only one man who knows the people and sure is not this walking popcorn fart right here. (points to Coach) The Rock says he came here looking forward to meeting Eugene! He tells Eugene not to listen to the people and he says that the people like him. The crowd goes nuts with Eugene chants! The Rock asks if he likes that, Eugene says yes. The Rock says that the people will chant his name again in 3 seconds, and they do. The Rock tells Eugene that the Coach is not his friend and the crowd chants "Screw the Coach." He then tells Eugene it would be an honor to be his friend! The Rock gets the people to call the Coach a popcorn fart! Coach says that that is real funny, he then brings up the fact that the Rock got his ass kicked at WrestleMania 20. Is that what you think Coach? The Rock asks. Coach goes to answer and Eugene yells into the mic "it doesn't matter what you think!" The Rock asks Eugene who the man is, he says ROCK. He says who is the people's champ, Eugene says The Rock! He then asks who hios favorite superstar is and Eugene says HHH! Hilarious stuff as the Rock asks him why!
The Rock then goes on to ask the people if they want to see a game. He asks if they want to see checkers, they boo. He says dodgeball? They cheer a bit. Eugene imitates all the sports. Then The Rock asks if the people want to see a game called Eugene kicks the Coach's ass all over San Diego! They go CRAZY. However, Garrison Cade comes to the ring and ruins things by taking out The Rock. Coach and Cade double team The Rock but Eugene makes the save! The Rock and Eugene kick total ass as The Rock hits his spinebuster on Cade. Eugene throws Coach into a clothesline from The Rock. The Rock waits and hits The rock bottom on Coach! He goes for the elbow but he lets Eugene do it instead!

Winner goes to Bad Blood to face Benoit for the Title
The match starts with Evolution in a corner as tons of wrestlers jump on them. J. Nitro is left behind with Kane who chucks him over the top. Stevie Richards is next to go followed by Rosie. Kane goes crazy after eliminating Rosey and he picks up Hurricane and tries to throw him out but Rosey catches Hurricane and rolls him back in the ring. Hurricane goes after Kane and jumps on his neck as we go to a commercial break.
When we come back Rhyno and HHH are going at it in the middle of the ring. During the break Rob Conway got tossed, but stayed on the apron only to get dropkicked out by Maven! Val Venis has Maven in an elimination position but HHH sneaks up and eliminates them both. Jericho gets HHH from behind but Batista makes the save. Jericho tosses Sylvian out of the ring but Garrison Cade tries to throw him out afterwards, but Jericho holds on, pulls himself back over and eliminates Cade! Orton and Batista double team Rhyno in the middle of the ring, the rest of Evolution join them as the beat down Rhyno and throw him out.
Jericho is in trouble as The Hurricane is trying to kick him out, but Evolution pick up Hurricane and give him some blows and chops. Batista and HHH both grab the Hurricane and chuck him to the outside! Evolution is supreme so far as all men are left when we take our last commercial break.
Eight men are left as we come back, Jericho hits a bulldog on HHH. Kane is still left, all 4 Evolution members, Jericho, Edge, and Shelton.
Edge is trying to eliminate Randy but Batista makes the save. Jericho gets a standing 10 punch on Flair but only gets to 5 before getting an atomic drop. Flair puts Jericho in the figure 4 for some reason! Kane and Edge are working over Orton as Jericho gives Flair a back-drop and clotheslines him over the top!
Batista throws Jericho to the outside but Jericho jumps on the steps, but lands weird and does fall to the ground. I don't think he was supposed to go out here. Kane is in the ring and he chokeslams HHH and then everyone else around him. Batista and Kane are the only two standing as they battle. Kane goes for the chokeslam but Batista backs out and hits a spinebuster on Kane. When Batista turns around Edge works him over and eliminates him! Edge waits for HHH to get up and when he does Edge hits the spear!
Edge spears Kane too, he goes after Orton who ducks as Edge goes to the outside. Randy kicks him numerous times and eliminates him!
Final four are HHH, Randy Orton, Shelton Benjamin and Kane. Kane is down as Evolution double teams Shleton who fights back and takes both men down. Shelton whips HHH off the ropes but HHH hits the high knee. They try to get Shleton out but he refuses to budge. He is on the apron and he takes a shot from HHH and hangs on still! Benjamin saves himself about 3 times before finally getting back in the ring and hitting a top rope cross body block on both Evolution members! Kane gets up and he and Shelton go at it, Shelton hits his spin wheel kick and then gets up and eliminates Orton! Kane gets Shleton in the chokeslam but HHH low blows Kane. HHH then tosses Shelton over the top. HHH and Kane are the last two as HHH looks cocky that he will win the whole thing! However, HBK hits the ring, nails HHH with a flying forearm and tosses HHH aRIGHT OUT OF THE RING. KANE IS DECLARED THE WINNER!
