| WWE News & Notes - 7/22/03 - RAW Off-Air Happenings, Jim Ross/Gail Kim, Arn Anderson, Coachman, & Kane News | |||||
| Off the Air RAW Happenings: - The arena was looked to be sold out. The crowd was let into the building very late. - When Gail Kim blew a spot during her tag team match with Trish Stratus against Vicotoria and Molly Holly, the crowd really got on her for doing so. - Ric Flair did a long promo during the break following Randy Orton's speech to the crowd. Flair angered the crowd with this anti-Lakers remarks. - After RAW went off the air, Linda McMahon was put on a stretchers with many agents and announcers checking on her. Rob Van Dam eventually got back on his feet and left. Credit: WrestlingObserver.com - Word is that Jim Ross has been a very big supporter of Gail Kim ever since her debut. JR has had a significant role in getting her a push in the storylines. JR, like most, are very impressed with Kim's athletic talent. - After taking some time off, Arn Anderson has returned to WWE at the company's insistence, to address a personal problem. Apparently, Anderson is back in his agent role. There is a chance that Anderson's return has something to do with Terry Taylor being let go last week, however that is just speculation. - The overall feeling after last night was that while The Coach does try very hard and is a really nice guy, he simply is not ready for a lead announcer's spot and unfortunatly seems to hurt the show with several miscalls and missing of important storyline spots. Even people within the WWE who do not necessarily love Jim Ross want him back on the show immediately because Ross is so good at getting over talent and storylines, and has a very knowledgeable mind for all of the wrestling moves. Last night, WWE gave three different stories regarding JR pressing charges. Firstly, if Kane is in house arrest, that means charges have already been pressed, whether by Jim Ross or if the authorities just stepped in. Then, Austin said that JR was not going to press charges. And, no more than 30 minutes later, Coach & Lawler questioned whether he would press charges. Add to the fact that the guards brought Kane to the ring in shackles, then let him destroy RVD, and eventually Linda, makes no logical sense. - Additionally, Kane was getting quite a few babyface cheers in the arena. WWE wants Kane to be a heel, but the fact that he cannot completely make the turn (and I would assume it has something to do with the fact that he's attacked management like Linda & Bischoff) further frustrates WWE officials.
