| WWE News & Notes - 6/18/03 - Storm/Austin Segment + Steiner In Bad Shape + A-Train + Evolution | |||||
| - Many backstage were very pleased with the way that Lance Storm angle went on RAW. While some fans were upset that Lance Storm, generally considered a good worker, got totally embarassed and "schooled" in the ring, that wasn't what WWE was intending. Because Lance Storm's gimmick is that he's a very dry, boring character, WWE decided to channel the fans disinterest in his gimmick into the "yell boring at Lance Storm" so that they'd be involved with his matches. Now, at house shows and RAW matches, fans will not just sit back and watch Lance Storm, but will have a reason to get involved with his matches by chanting "boring". Additionally, while on the plane ride to the UK for Insurrextion, he laid down the entire ride, due to the back pain he was experiencing. - WWE re-signed A-Train to a contract with a much lower downside guarantee. Morale has really declined as payoffs are very bad, while expenses are not getting any lower. WWE changed plans at the last minute so that they could hype something huge for next weeks RAW live from Madison Square Garden. Batista is apparently out of the group as he has been removed from the opening video. Upcoming house shows have Randy Orton against Goldust and The Hurricane. - HBO's real sports show that will feature highlights from WWE is set to air 6/24 at 10 PM.
