| Kurt Angle May Only Miss 6 Weeks + Undertaker To Have Surgery | |||||
| - The following are highlights from an interview on WWE.com: In some pretty shocking news, Kurt Angle was told by a doctor from Pittsburgh, Dr. Jho, that there is a procedure he could undergo that would result in him only missing four to six weeks. While the original plan was retirement, then a year off after surgery, going all the way down to just over a month in absence seems too good to be true. According to Kurt Angle, the doctor he spoke with offering this procedure seems almost too excited and confident that it will work. The doctor has a strong list of credentials including Scott Hall, who has nothing but good things to say about his work. Kurt Angle actually called Scott Hall and talked to him for about an hour about the doctor, who Hall told him is the best. Angle is still undecided, however, saying he wants to what's best for both his career and WWE in general. Angle cited Undertaker, Steve Austin, Edge, and The Rock as part-time guys now and realizes the company needs him. Angle said he'll weigh out his options before deciding which doctor and which procedure to go with. However, there is hope that Angle won't be gone forever, or even a year, as originally expected. - The following are re-written interview highlights from WWE.com: Undertaker showed a lot of guts and class at WrestleMania XIX last night. "The Dead Man" has hips that need replaced, a left elbow in such bad condition that he can't straighten his arm, among other random injuries, and still managed to go full throttle last night in a 2-on-1 handicap match against A-Train and Big Show. 'Taker said it's his duty to give the fans, who pay money, everything he has in him. He pulled off a tombstone piledriver on a 300+ pound man with bad hips and a messed up elbow, among other "old-school" moves, and entrance music for that matter. Undertaker told the WWE website crew that he has surgery scheduled for his elbow by doctor Thomas Byrd of Nashville, Tenn. on April 10th. 'Taker said his elbow is a mess and it's completely fused at this point. He said he just wants to get it fixed and get it over with so he can keep trucking along. At the very least, Undertaker will miss a month of in-ring action Credit: Matt Boone of LordsOfPain.net |
