| Update On Randy Orton's & Batista's Injury + Steve Austin To Smackdown? & Hogan's New WWE Deal | ||||||||
| - Randy Orton suffered an injury to his foot/ankle at yesterday's WWE RAW Brand House Show in Reading, Pennsylvania. According to Dave Meltzer, the injury Orton suffered was a broken foot. Also in the same match, Dave Batista may have suffered a torn tricep. Both men will be meeting with Dr. James Andrews shortly. Until these two see Andrews however, there is no time table on how long either man will be out of action. This is obviously a bad break for Orton as he had just returned from a shoulder injury that sidelined him for several months. WrestleView.com will bring you an update on these two as they become available over the next few days. Credit: Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com - The deal between Hulk Hogan and WWE is apparently only agreed to through WrestleMania. At that point, both Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan will talk again to see where things stand, and possibly renew the deal for a longer period of time. Hogan's injured back will ultimately determine whether or not he continues to work with the company past WrestleMania. In fact, there was some slight concern before/after No Way Out that Hogan wouldn't even be working the expected match at WrestleMania against Vince McMahon. However, Hogan confirmed in a WWE.com interview following the pay-per view that he should be good to go by the end of March. - TNN and UPN have been told to expect more surprises from WWE between now and WrestleMania. They were both put on alert that the plan is for Steve Austin to be a regular on SmackDown, while The Rock will be a regular on RAW. Recently, half of that equation came true when Rock was on RAW following No Way Out and Vince McMahon confirming his decision to stick with RAW. Should be interesting to see if Steve Austin does end up on SmackDown! as rumored in the discussions between WWE and TV networks above, although it would obviously be hard to do that until after WrestleMania due to the planned Rock/Austin headline.
