| "Classy" Freddie Blassie Passes Away | |||||
| On RAW tonight, Jim Ross announced that Freddie Blassie just passed away, around 20 minutes before RAW went on the air at 9:00 pm EST. Blassie has been in the wrestling business since either the 1930's or the 1940's. He also enlisted in the Navy during the 1940's during World War 2, and after getting discharged, he continued with his wrestling career. Blassie worked for several organizations throughout his time as a wrestler, and retired as a wrestler in the 1970's, and then became a famous heel manager for the WWWF (later WWF and WWE thereafter). Just last week, 1Wrestling.com reported that Blassie checked into the hospital for something, whether it was a scheduled surgery or Blassie becoming sick. May he rest in peace.
