| Mustafa Sandal was born in Istabul, Turkey on January 11th, 1970. He completed his high school studies in Geneva, Switzerland before completing two years of Marketing Studies at Newhampshire College,United States. But Mustafa chose to give up his current studies in order to follow his first passion; music. This led him back to his home city of Istanbul Mustafa was at Gelisim Studios when he had the opportunity to meet many of Turkeys legendary musicians suchas Onno Tunc and Garo Mafyan, whom he was able to work with. |
| In 1999, Mustafa signed with Sony Records in France which would broaden his audiece around the globe. One of his most successful singles in 1999 was 'Araba'. In 2000, Mustafa released his fourth album 'Akisina Birak'. He also established his own musical label, Yada Productions, which now allows him to help up-and-coming artists more freely. 2002 saw the release of his fifth album, 'Kop'. Two of its greatest hits were 'Pazara Kadar' and 'Kop'. After this albums success he toured Russia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. That same year he won another Kral Awars for 'Best Pop-Star'. Mustafas latest album, released in 2003, is titled 'Seven'. It contains seven english language tracks. Hopefully this is an indication that his english fans will soon be hearing more or Mustafa! But there is no doubt that music-lovers of all ethnicities and languages can enjoy these infectious arabian-styled beats. |
| In 1994, his fist album, titled 'Suc Bende', sold 1.5 million tapes and 200,000 cds, which made it Turkeys highest selling album of the year. With this sudden success, Mustafa found himself performing 140 concerts in Turkey and 30 throughout Europe. |
| In 1997, 27 year old Mustafa intended to move to London. That summer, however, his second album, titled 'Golgede Ayni', sold over 2.5 million tapes and 600,000 cds upon its release. Mustafa gave over 200 furthur concerts and continued to impress audiences with his video clips and their use of clever technical techniques. It was clear to him now that he he should not move to London and prospects of greater success remained intensified within Turkey. |
| 1998 saw the production of his third album 'Detay'. This album quickly produced the number one hit 'Aya Benzer' and earned him two Kral Awards, (Turkeys equivalent of the Grammy's). Later that year Mustafa toured Aserbeidschan, Austria, Denmark, England, Germany, Holland, U.S.A. and Turkmenistan. |
