Description:
Muslim Voices Poetry Contest is open to poets of all religions who would like to write about the Muslim experience in celebration of, or in contemplation of, the Islamic culture. Poems should be respectful of Islamic culture and peoples, but can touch on controversial and sensitive topics if done in an intelligent and profound manner. The objective of the contest is to showcase the diversity and breadth of Muslim thought and cultural experience.
Guidelines:
Submit poetry (by e-mail only) to [email protected] between September and December. Send 1-5 poems and brief author biography within the body of an e-mail. No attachments please. Each poem must be 50 lines or less. Include e-mail address and mailing address on entry e-mail. All entries, regardless of winning will be eligible to be included in this year�s anthology.
All entries will be judged by February, and winners will be posted on the International Muslim Voices Poetry Contest Website located at http://geocities.com/muslimvoicespc.
First through third prize will receive a free copy of the anthology. First through tenth prize will have their biographies published along with their poetry in this year�s Muslim Voices. There will be acknowledgement of Honorable Mention for the poetry rated from 11th to 25th prize.
