| I was seized with astonishment when I saw the great attention the Western Press is paying to the issue of Taliban�s decision to destroy Buddhist Statues. They gave it much attention; that it becomes the main headline in most of the press and media ... Continue Even my astonishment increased when I read that article written by one of the editors in: Wall Street Journal (WSJ); in which he describes Taliban as wild animals and barbarians The editor asks the World Forces to destroy them. And he finishes his article by saying: Any solid body or even any human in this world is better than that Mullah Muhammad Omar and the Taliban Militia. Before discussing the issue of these Statues, and whether it is from the rights of Taliban to destroy it or not�we have a lot of questions to the United Nations� as its representative threaten Taliban with paying a lot if they destroy these statues. Firstly: Are the statues more important than human beings?! If this is your religion; then our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) tought us that destroying ka�ba (which is the most important building on the surface of earth in Islam) stone by stone is better that killing one Muslim. Where is the UN from the scandals of American Forces in Somali?! And where is the UN from Millions of Iraqi children who dead and are dying yearly from the dual American and British attacks on Iraq?! And where is the UN from the scandals of the UN troops itself in Bosnia-Hercegovina? The courts are filled with rape scandals done by the troops, that instead of revealing peace and justice; they reveal rape and immorality. And where is the UN from Vietnam? Where its men, women and children were killed?! Even where is the UN from Muhammad Addurah and the Palestinian children who are killed by tanks, bombs and bullets by the Israeli forces?! Can the stupidity level in human beings reach this extent�to be united in one voice to save a group of stones; under the claim of protecting culture and civilization?! While a lot of people had been killed recently, and no one of them move! Secondly: UNESCO considers it a crisis, Russia considers it destruction, France considers it terror, Germany is angry, Britain is worried, India, Nepal, Sri Lanca, Thailand make demonstrations in which they burn Muslim�s Holy Book Quaran, and threaten Muslims, and the countries of the European Association are discussing and negotiating. At leisure� Where were all of those when the Hindus destroyed Al-babery Mosque ( the mosque belongs to the Islamic Heritage)? Most of Muslims didn�t hear this news. And none of the media dealt with that subject as they are dealing with Buddha issue. And where were they when Mosques were destroyed and burnt in Bosnia-Hercegovina? And when Mosques are converted to wine�s inns in Palestine?! Or where are they from Israeli plans to destroy Aqsa and their digging under it; to make it fall so they can build their temple instead?! It is just revenge from Taliban, without considering the issue of destroying the statues. The issue of destroying the statues has many faces�like: 1- these statues are not a historical heritage as they claim. But rather it is a disaster by all ways of measuring. They are idols for a god worshiped on earth; rather than ALLAH . And many people from outside Afghanistan do pilgrimage to them every year. So; after that we call them Historical Heritage?! Do we leave people worshiping idols; and we leave these idols?! Where are we from Muhammad�s Order (peace be upon him) to his Sahaba to destroy all idols?! And why did Muhammad (peace be upon him) destroy all idols inside Makkah saying �Say: "The Truth has arrived, and Falsehood neither creates anything new, nor restores anything.� [Sahih Muslim] And why did Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) destroy them too?! 2- Some one may ask: why didn�t the Sahaba destroy these idols? Are the Taliban better than the Sahaba? We reply, and may ALLAH Guide us : Who claim that Sahaba saw any idol and didn�t destroy it; has to bring his evidence from history to prove that. The Sunnah states that Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had destroyed all idols; that the people were using to worship; rather than our God ALLAH. Besides; he ordered his Sahaba to do that too. To conclude: Taliban suffers in the same way as many of the Arab and Islamic countries suffer from the tyranny and distortion of the western media � Once they accuse the Taliban with drug traffic in order to support its rule (the UN has proven in one of its reports about Taliban that the movement has been able to destroy the last of fields planted with drugs in Afghanistan� this testifies about the innocence of Taliban from the western media accusation that it is involved in drug dealing operations)�at other occasions you find the western media accuse Taliban of women abuse that they would even fabricate silly and funny stories to prove that� Today they accuse the movement of wasting the civilization legacy and heritage of the nations� I would not confirm 100% with the soundness of my view of things but I will do my best to interpret what the UN does but I keep finding my self-helpless about it� There is nothing left for me to say except that what is happening to Taliban is the same as what has happened to those who destroyed Idols worshipped other than God in all ages� Prophet Ibraheem (Abraham) was placed in Fire by his own people for doing that� Our Prophet (peace be upon him) was hit and tormented for doing that� In our modern era the wheel has turned over Taliban�it was accused of Fanaticism, extremism and backwardness� We hope to see a legal and conclusive investigation about this issue from the specialized authorities like: the permanent committee of Fatwa and Research headed by Sheik Abdulaziz Al- Alsheik may God guide him. |
