As-salamu alaykum (may peace be upon you) Ahlen we Sahlen (hello and welcome). This is learning ARABIC for who wants to learn. EVERYONE is welcome, from different ethnic backgrounds and faiths, this is a form of cultural exchange, and getting to know a little bit about the arabic language. Also the best example of the formal Arabic is from the Quran, therefor from time to time there are some examples taken from the Quran. This is not a tafseer, although mostly for conversational Arabic. Alot of non Arab muslims like to learn arabic to understand the Quran, and alot of Non-Muslims like to learn arabic to visit the arab lands or use it with thier friends or as a hobby and so on. If you learn the formal Arabic as is being tought here, you will be able to communicate with it in over 20 different countries.

Did you know that the graduation outfit we see today when students graduate from univeristies actually came from the Arabic lands during the Golden ages of Islam? During the dark ages in the west, the westerners traveled into the middle east areas to learn and gain knowledge of Science, Math, Medecine, Astronomy and more! When they go back to the West with this knowledge, they come back wearing the traditional Arabic outfit, dressed in a robe and a turban. If someone comes from the Arab lands wearing this traditioanl Arab outfit, in the West they are considered to be people of knowledge and educated! This is how the graduation outfit that we see today came from, it came from the Arab lands during the Golden Age of Islam, where knowledge was shared with all humanity.
