Asalam Alaikum guys!
Nice to see a site like that! I am a newly convert muslim,
cuz I wanna
marry my muslim wife. I have missed some moderate and
'humanistic' views
from muslims from day one I met them. This of couse stems
from the fact
that I am raised here in Denmark in a non-religious way. I
am a true free
thinker.
The fight against fanatism, bigotry and superstition
should be a fight for
us all, no matter what religion we practise or where we
come from. I was
shocked when a supposed intelligent imam told me that they
hate snakes cuz
it took out the bad things from the air and made its
poison! How dangerous
is it not that people like this control thousands of
ignorant followers?
Latest I saw fanatic islamic powers in Indonesia wanting a
Jihad in
connection with the East-Timor question agaist the west
and of course in
particular USA. Do they not realize that Indonesia
overtook the country by
force after the portugese and that their forces have been
buzy
exterminating the original people? Do they not realize
that the population
made a democratic decision to independency by vote?
I hope there is a place where these questions and others
can be put out in
public. And I hope we can get a sound and intellectual
debate with other
muslims around without personal hatred and hidden agendas.
