If an territory belonging to Muslims is occupied by the disbelievers, it is prescribed for the Muslims to drive the disbelievers out of that place and restore their possession of the land.
Allah has said:The battle bane Israel fought under the commander of Talut (whose mention has made in Sura Al-Baqrah) had no other objective than to reclaim and repossess the Muslim territories. Allah Ta'ala has approved and quoted the saying of the Mujahdeen participating in the battle.
The Muslims who were but a small group, by Allah's grace and help, overwhelmed the disbelievers who were a mighty host. Dawood ( Peace be upon him) killed the enemy's commander Jault and put the disbelievers to rout. Though the immediate cause of the attack on Makkah by Allah's Messenger was the violation of the condition of the Peace Treaty on the part of the Makkans, yet the fact should not the disgrace that the Makkans had driven the Muslims out of their hearth and home in Makkah, so through the conquest of Makkah they, following the teaching of the Holy Quran, were able get their land.
The disbeliever occupy a territory belonging to the Muslims, it is incumbent on the Muslims to drive the disbelievers out of that place and restore their possession of the land.
(a) Spain that had been a Muslim territory for more than eight hundred years was captured by the Christians. They
(i.e. the Christians) literally and practically wiped out the whole Muslim population. Now it is our duty to restore Muslim rule to this land of ours.
(b) The whole of India, including Kashmir, Hayderabad, Assam, Nepal, Burma, Bihar
and Junagarh was a Muslim territory and it fell into the hands of the disbelievers just because we
disregarded Jehad.
(c) The Jews hold Palestine. Even our first Qibla, Bait-ul-Muqaddas is under their illegal possession.
So many other lands and territories which once belonged to and were reeled by the Muslims, are now held by the disbelievers, and are awaiting the Muslim
Mujahdeen so that they might restore them to their real possessors. I hope that these details would suffice to convince my brothers that, under the present circumstances, Jehad to all intents and purposes, has become obligatory for the Muslims.
