I have traveled abroad before, and I found that I am uncomfortable where English is not spoken or understood. So again, my curiosity and interest in the "family history" really pushed me to make this trip to the remote part of southern Poland where my grandparents were born.
I can honestly say that it was a "trip of a lifetime" - not in an extravagant sense with plush surroundings and excitement every minute, but in the sense of really experiencing the way people in other cultures live, and connecting with my own sense of family.
First, I must thank my cousin, Kathy, for pushing all of us and making us believe that this trip could become a reality. I cannot begin to know how much time and effort she put into searching the internet (and maybe risking getting into trouble with her job).
March 8, 2007 - It has been over a year since I have added anything to the webpage. I have typed up a page of my journal on a CD and need to relearn how to add it, and also Rich and Frannie are visiting me this year and I will push them to add their pages also. So here goes . . . .
