| Aunt Annie's Banana Nut Cake 1/2 c. Crisco shortening 1-1/2 c. sugar Cream together until smooth, then add . . . 2 eggs, well beaten then add . . . 2 mashed bananas 3/4 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda mix together 2 c. sifted cake flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder sift together Alternating, add buttermilk and flour mixtures to the banana mixture, then mix in . . . 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. ground walnuts Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 2 round cake pans. Divide batter evenly and bake 30-35 minutes. Test with toothpick or knife inserted in the middle. FROSTING 5 Tbsp. flour 1 c. milk Mix together in a saucepan and cook, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and cool. Cream together: 1/2 c. margarine 1/2 c. Crisco shortening 1 c. powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla dash salt Add sugar mixture gradually to the flour mixture, beating for at least 5 minutes, until light and fluffy.
