.........    3     James L. Hill    b: Mar 05, 1841        d: 1863 in Tyler, Texas     James was a member of the Sixty-seventh Indiana Infantry, taken prisoner in 1863 and probably died in Taylor, Texas, having never since been heard of.
.........    3     Charles W. Hill    b: Jul 04, 1843 in Bartholomew Co, IN. Charles Hill is a Civil War Veteran.   He enlisted, becoming a member of Company C, Fourth Iowa Infantry. Through the various grades of official   positions in his company, being Corporal, then Sergeant, and being made Second Lieutenant in 1863 and promoted to First Lieutenant in 1864.    He was with Sherman on the celebrated march to the sea, and participated in the engagements at Lookout Mountain and Missionary Ridge under General Hooker being temporarily detached from Sherman's army for that purpose.    Mr. Hill was in the Battle of Jackson, the Siege of Vicksburg and the final assault on that stronghold.

.........    3     Thomas Jefferson Hill    b: 1845 in Bartholomew Co, IN    d: 1863 in Newtonia, Missouri    Thomas was in the 18th Iowa Infantry during the Civil War. The Eighteenth engaged in the battles of Springfield, Moscow, Poison Spring, Arkansas and was mustered out at Little Rock, Arkansas, July 20, 1865.
.........    3     Aaron Moore Hill    b: Jun 04, 1847 in Columbus, IN d: Dec 10, 1923 in Oskaloosa, Iowa   Aaron was a Civil War Veteran, a member of the Eighth Iowa Cavalry. The Eighth did a large amount of duty guarding Sherman's communications, in which it had several small engagements. It was in the battles of Lost Mountain, Lovejoy's Station, Newman, Nashville, etc. It was on Stoneman's cavalry raid around Atlanta, and Wilson's raid through Alabama. Was mustered out at Macon, Georgia, August 13, 1865.
