The September 18 meeting of Muskingum College Republicans came to order at 8:00 p.m.. Troy called the meeting to order and Megan took the Roll Call of members. Troy announced the appointment of the Executive Council: Megan Payne, Secretary, Renee Morrow, Treasurer and PR, Levi Shegog, Liaison to the Candidates. The minutes from the previous meeting were approved.
Muskingum County Republican Chairman, Mr. Pat Hennesey gave the keynote address. He discussed Super Saturday and the events that would occur. Mr. Hennesey stressed the importance of Republican morals and values. He said "don’t get frustrated, everything in politics happens at the last minute." He concluded by stressing how important the election of the Ohio Supreme Court Judges is.
Troy and Renee announced the letterhead was done and ready to be printed. Troy recapped the events of the State Board Meeting and that the proposal for Oliver North was sent in. Megan reported that the registration drive would be underway next week and that volunteers would be needed in the B.O.C.. Levi passed around a sign up sheet for volunteers to drop off campaign signs on October 8. Renee covered the budget proposal. Troy announced that Phil Lobby is our financial advisor and Dr. Straley is our political advisor.
New dates for events were announced. Ohio University C.R. meeting is September 20 at 9:00 p.m.. On Saturday, September 23, there will be a parade to help with Bob Ney’s campaign. Nancy Hollister will be speaking at our November 2 meeting. The Young Republicans and County GOP meetings are on October 4. Literature Drop and Super Saturday are October 7. The next State Board meeting will be held at Ohio State University on October 15 and General Colin Powell will be speaking at Miami University on October 17. The meeting was then adjourned.
