Martyn Van Den Hoek / Pianist
Artistic Director and founder of Musik Zentral


Born in Holland. 1st Prize at the Int. Liszt Competition 1986. Studies in Moscow, Budapest and
New York. Worldwide concertizing, giving workshops ( also on posture and movement), master
classes and lectures contribute to a very active musicians schedule. 1987-1995 teacher at the
Vienna Academy of Music, later at the Vienna Conservatory. 23 CD recordings. His repertoire
includes 50 piano concerti and over 50 different solo programs. 2002, he accepted a professor-
ship at the university of music in Utrecht.

Toos Onderdenwijngaard / Pianist

Studied with Nelly Wagenaar and Lenie Noske in Amsterdam, followed by years of study with
the famous Marguerite Long in Paris and Viola Thern in Vienna. Extensive concert tours, espe-
cially in South America, Middle East and Russia. Taught at the Royal Conservatory in the Ha-
gue. As a defender of the piano works of Franz Liszt, she founded the Netherlands Liszt Society
in 1980. Recently she is asked as a juror in many international music competitions for the young.
Andreas Woyke / Pianist

Studied in his native town Siegen (Germany), graduated from the music academy in Koln and
Vienna, before entering and winning prizes in the worlds most challenging piano competitions such
as the International Brahms competition in Hamburg or the van Cliburn Piano competition in
Forth Worth, Texas. He currently teaches at the Academy of Music in Graz, fusing improvisation
and jazz into the classical educational tradition.

Henk Ekkel/ Pianist

Studied piano, lied accompaniment and chamber music in Utrecht (the Netherlands), Antwerpen
and Freiburg. After winning the Jeunesse Competition in Belgrade, he was also awarded the
prestigious „Vriendenkransg of the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. Ever since, he was sincerely
committed to establish the Department for young and gifted pianists at the Utrecht
Conservatory. Recently, he was appointed teacher at the Academy for musical talents Nederland.
Joyce Tan / Violinist

Received her musical education from the premier violin pedagogue in the Netherlands Davina
van Wely. Beginning in 1989, she established faculties for the young and talented both at the
Utrecht and Amsterdam Conservatories. Joyce Tan was the founder and artistic director of "the
Freistritz Chamber Music Master class" in Austria. Currently, Joyce Tan has developed a unique
methodology which she teaches in special Teachers Master classes for violin teachers from all
over Europe.
Michael Pinnisch / Dancer

Born in Vienna, first studied at the State Opera Dance School, later on in New York,Monte Carlo,
Cannes and Prof. Luzia Breuer. His active career started 1978 as member of the Corps de ballet
of the State Opera Vienna, 1991 he became a solo dancer. He was invited guest dancer in many
parts of the world. Cooperation with the great dancers of the century, i.e. Rudolf Nurejew.
Michael Pinnisch often cooperated with the Vienna Philharmonic New Years Concerts.
He was the co founder of the State Opera Ballet Society. His first cooperation with „Musik
Zentral took place successfully in 2007.
Alexei Kornienko / Conductor & Pianist

Born in Moscow, studied piano under Yakov Zak and conducting in Charkow under Prof. Jordania.
Prizewinner at the Int. Rachmaninoff Piano competition. He stands out as an extraordinary
dynamic, bold interpreter in both modern and classic- romantic repertoire, both as pianist and
conductor. He has a professorship at the Carinthian State Conservatory. He is artistic director
of the Wörthersee Classics Festival since 2000.
Elena Denisova / Violinist (Guest Teacher)

This fine artist was born in Moscow. She studied with Oleg Kagan and Valerij Klimov. Her
repertoire includes numerous works written for her by contemporary composers. Worldwide
appreciation of her wealth in nuance, the effortlessness in playing, the power of expression and
adaptability of her tone. She is president of the Gustav Mahler Society and director of the
Wörthersee Classics Festival in Austria.
