| Tania, like Haylie, comes from Australia, and holds a first-class Bachelor of Music Degree from the Sydney Conservatorium. She has also gained the postgraduate diploma in performance with distinction from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Her hero is Maxim Vengerov, and her name means "strength of ten" in Russian. She has said that bond would appeal to people who would usually be intimidated by a classical concert - she would've loved to have heard bond's music playing at the opening to the Sydney Olympics. When I went to bond's concert at the Royal Albert Hall, London on October 7th 2001, I bought a brochure, and inside, this is what Tania had to say: We've been looking forward to this concert tour for so long, I can hardly believe we're finally doing it! It has been an amazing year travelling the world with bond - my platinum frequent flyer status reflects just how much travelling we've done. We've played at some incredible and varied occasions, ranging from opening the MTV Awards recently at New York's Metropolitan Opera House, playing at the Miss World beauty pagent, and bringing in the New Year with a performance in minus 5 degrees C. temperature at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin for several thousand wild revellers. Not to mention playing in New York's Times Square and Stock Exchange, the Australian Olympic Stadium, duetting with Pavarotti, opening the Classical Brit Awards.....it's been such a roller-coaster ride and we've had so many extraordinary and rewarding experiences. We all hope you enjoy the concerts as much as we'll enjoy playing them, and a very big thank you to everyone who has supported us. Tania xxx |
