| Bishop Leur's 1991 Music Warehouse came in 4th |
| 1991 was a big year in competition. Verda and choreographer Marty DeMott created a trend with the "strip dress." The Music Warehouse woman wore black velvet dresses for the opening number. At Bishop Leurs, whispers could be heard about the unusual "plainness" of the dresses. However, the introduction to the second number featured a drum solo, and the men "ripped" the dresses from the girls, revealing a hot blue sequined dress. With that move, a show choir "trick" was formed. Music Warehouse first travelled to Bishop Leurs, and was awarded the Outstanding Show award. Also, bass player Kris Meyer won the Outstanding Bass award. However, Music Warehouse placed 4th overall in the night show. On March 23, the group traveled north to Center Grove High School, and went finished second in a tight competition. Senior Lee Anne Franklin was awarded Outstanding Female Soloist (within a show) for the opening song "Vogue." As they say, third time is the charm. Music Warehouse's third competition was at Mt. Zion, Illinois. The group not only took home the Outstanding Show trophy again, but were also named Grand Champions! |
